QOD II – WTF is up with Republicans?

Filed in National by on May 16, 2008

Why is the GOP Determined to Go Down With The Ship ?

The Republican party is a shinking ship and instead of bailing as George Bush and John McCain happily shoot cannon balls through the decks – many Republicans are resigned to the fact that they are done for.

Think about it…

Why did Republicans pick McCain, the guy who worked the hardest to join himself to Bush’s legacy to be their nominee?

Why do Republicans like Mike Castle continue to support the Bush/McCain “100 more years of war!” party line?

I just don’t get the Republican mindset.  It is as if they want to loose this fall.

Update: Huckabee covers himself with glory.

So they can be home in time for the Lost season finale.

  2. Al Mascitti says:

Jason: I have felt the same way for weeks now: Why is McCain cementing himself to a guy with a sub-30% approval rating?

Now I think we should change our tune, and salute Republicans for telling the truth about what they intend to do — more of the same. Such rare honesty in politics should be applauded.

I believe that the deffination of insane is doing the same thig over and expecting a different result. However it worked twice before so who am i to question

I just love it the OIL PRESIDENT has just been told by the SAUDIES to go F___K hisself

  5. Steve Newton says:

    Al,
McCain is really Bob Dole for the next decade.

He doesn’t get it; he ended up the nominee because the GOP primary system with winner-take-all is just as broken as the Dem superdelegates, but in a different direction.

  6. Brian says:

    “He doesn’t get it; ”

I think the aricept stopped working.

Ted Blunt has dropped out of the race for Lt. Gov

Ted Blunt’s campaign says fundraising challenges led him to pull the plug Friday.

In a statement, he thanked thousands of contributors, saying the campaign had raised nearly two hundred thousand dollars, but “mounting a statewide campaign at this time in our history requires unprecedented resources”.

That would appear to be a reference to State Insurance Commissioner Matt Denn, also seeking the Democratic nomination; and State Senator Charlie Copeland, the Republican candidate for Lieutenant-Governor.

Blunt says he won’t seek elective office in the future.

One of Blunt’s daughters — Maria Blunt-Carter — tells W-D-E-L News her parents have decided to get some R & R out of the country.

I just don’t get the Republican mindset.

    Goopers have a mind?

  12. david says:

The Republican mindset is simple. It is for a free and prosperous nation which is well defended and a good place to raise a family.

  13. jason330 says:

Republicans want to move to Canada?

  14. “One of Blunt’s daughters — Maria Blunt-Carter — tells W-D-E-L News her parents have decided to get some R & R out of the country.”

Wonder if they’re using funds from their campaign war chest? Wouldn’t surprise me…

  15. kavips says:

It’s supposedly over $200,000 which is double what Deluca has in his…..

  16. Von Copeland Express says:

Chickenhawk FSP – Well defended nation? I bet your sorry ass couldn’t make it through boot camp to defend this great nation. All talk and no action – how about joining up today?

  17. FSP says:

That’s David Anderson you’re talking to, not me. The David Anderson who’s slated to go to Iraq soon with the Delaware National Guard.

  18. Truth Teller says:

Why can’t the Dem’s find a person to run against Castle???????

  19. anon says:

Because they aren’t looking. There is some kind of a deal.

  20. X Stryker says:

Damn it, Ted! Run against Castle instead!!! The DCCC has dough. $200K would at least put you ahead of the other candidates…

  21. X Stryker says:

By the way, Kathleen Sebelius needs to be a VP choice on that poll.

  22. Savy Politico says:

Blunt for Congress????? Any damn thing would do to get him out of city politics where he has done little or nothing for city residents except lock residents out of city hall, collect a salary for years on end, eat free chicken, and drive around a gas guzzling Hemi Darango which he was expecting to trade in for plate #2. (That must hurt him the most.). I suppose now he’ll be limited to all those limo rides 🙂

But Congress? I think not….you may not be aware but under that silver lies a Republican…check w/Dept. of Elections. When he slithered into town from Philly he was a registered Rep. So why trade one Repuke for another?????

Good riddance to bad garbage…..oh, yes, Mike I’m w/you…he won’t be donating that money to early ed. or youth programs….he’s a gamer to the max.

Sail away, sail away, sail far away…watch Alice doesn’t help you over the railing.

  23. Brian says:

This is all a reflection of the glorious conservative cultural revolution’s love for dear leader Kim Jong Bush and his weapons of mass destruction….

Why can’t the Dem’s find a person to run against Castle???????

The Democratic Party’s nomiee for Congress will be Karen Hartley-Nagle. Unless the DCCC drops $500,000 on someone they like more.

And that is not happening because Tom Carper and Joe Biden want Castle in the House for some reason.

  25. liz allen says:

It’s the good ole boys club…they like the status quo just the way it is? That doesnt mean that we the people have to go along to get along…we do have minds of our own, don’t we? Why is Tom Carper, Castle’s escort? Carper and Castle have more in common than Biden and Carper! Both Carper and Castle need to be retired.

  26. liz allen says:

The bigger question is why do “democrats keep supporting Castle”? There are more democrats in this state than repub’s….Castle if re-elected will be in the minority party! I keep asking the same ole question…name one thing Castle has done for Delaware…no one can respond…oh but Read the young democrat found one thing…those Delaware quarters! Is that nuff?

  27. And that is not happening because Tom Carper and Joe Biden want Castle in the House for some reason.
