Windpower Deal: Greased Lightning!

Filed in National by on June 25, 2008

Wow.  Just Wow.  The windpower bill passed both houses of the legislature this evening.  Tommywind has the story.

To give you a feeling for this bills speed, I called Bluewater yesterday afternoon to get the bill number from them so that I could post a “Call your Senator and Rep” post with the actual bill number.  No need.  The damn thing cleared both houses unanimously in less than an hour.

I am breathing a sigh of relief.  As an added bonus, the URL for the Tommywonk link ends in “delaware-general-assembly-passes-wind.html”  I like it.

Wow. That is what a 90% approval rating of offshore wind will do.

  2. delawaredem says:

    LOL.

All 62 members of the General Assembly cosponsor the bill. It passes the Senate 21 to 0 and the House 41 to 0 within minutes of each other, and thirty minutes after that, Governor Minner signs it.

Offshore Wind is law in just under an hour.

    The AP story isn’t bad.

Except is gives Harris “I was really working hard for this better deal the whole time” McDowell the last word.

  4. liberalgeek says:

You mean Harris “Coffin Nail” McDowell?

  5. All 62 legislators voted “Yes?” I wonder if Hazel Plant had to be told to vote accordingly.

  6. anon says:

All 62 legislators remembered the long memories voters had about their vote to deregulate Conectiv.

  7. Hey, demand that they move along post haste on the fricking open government bills now that we know that they are chasing our election year vote so uniformly.

You guys need to get some color into that logo.

  9. delawaredem says:

    What colors would you suggest?

  10. RSmitty says:

Pink and powder blue. Maybe a dash of yellow.

Seriously, I always thought if it is state-based, you should go with state colors. Go to my old site for my suggestion. I custom-colored that style sheet to get as close to state colors as I could.

  11. delawaredem says:

I can see blue and yellow lettering. But you really can’t color up the quarter.

  12. liberalgeek says:

    Perhaps a background…

  13. RSmitty says:

You can do whatever the ‘ell you want! It’ll just be a bit of a bitch, that’s all.

  14. Smittness, you end up with a chartreuse! (sp?).
Official? The gold is more of a buckskin tan not a yellow. The blue is a royal blue.
