How much was the media industrial complex in the tank for Bush?

This much.

The AP has a Ron Fournier problem

by Eric Boehlert

You never know what nuggets congressional investigators will uncover when they set off on official inquiries.

Last week, we learned that while investigators for the House Oversight Committee were looking into the 2004 death of Cpl. Pat Tillman, the former NFL player whose story was promoted by the White House before it was revealed that he had been killed by friendly fire, they discovered that top political aide Karl Rove had exchanged emails with the Associated Press’ Ron Fournier on the day the news of Tillman’s death broke.

In one email, Rove asked, “How does our country continue to produce men and women like this?” Fournier responded: “The Lord creates men and women like this all over the world. But only the great and free countries allow them to flourish. Keep up the fight.”

I can hear the wing nuts now….”but…but…Keith Olberman…”

Would the wing nuts also spell “Keith” wrong?

    Gracias Amigo!

Come on, Mike. Matthews has always loved McCain. He’s a personality groupie! Hell, he just showed a pointless clip of Keira Sedgwick complimenting him. Sheesh!

  4. Sharon says:

Hell, don’t even have to go to Keith Olbermann. There are stories out today about the fake interviews during Obama’s Grand Tour, and arguments among MSM types as to whether their bias isn’t showing.

And that’s not even discussing Howard Kurtz’s roundtable from last week. Sorry, I’m not so good with linking.

  5. mike w. says:

You’ve got to be kidding! Matthews is a die-hard liberal.

  6. Pandora says:

Wrong, Mike. As much as you dislike Tweety is as much as I (a liberal) do.

  7. mike w. says:

Show me where Matthews has been bashing Obama and expressing adoration for McCain? Either you are delusional or we’re not watching the same show.

  8. Pandora says:

He’s not “bashing” McCain. He’s not bashing anyone – except maybe that Appeasement guy! 🙂 Matthews has become a celebrity, incapable of asking tough questions. Stop being so sensitive.

  9. Truth Teller says:

If you watched tonight’s show matthews praised McSame once again

Boehlert’s entire article is really worth reading. It isn’t just Fornier, and it has been going on for quite a few political cycles now.

  11. Dominique says:

Matthews is a bleeding-heart liberal. His spittle was almost fountainlike every time he talked about Obama during the primaries. That may have had something to do with his Clinton hatred, though. I haven’t watched more than ten minutes of him since the primaries ended, so I can’t really comment on how he speaks of or reports on McCain. I don’t remember him being too harsh about him in the past, tho. Could be because McCain has always been considered a moderate. Could also have something to do with the fact that McCain has openly disagreed with the Bushies and the party in the past. Matthews probably respects that.

  12. Pandora says:

Not sure what Tweety’s problem was with the Clintons (He didn’t land a position in the Clinton White House?), but he definitely had a big problem with them. Them, the Clintons.

He has always been very friendly and complimentary to McCain.

  13. Von Cracker says:

Andrea Mitchell’s just pissy because she wasn’t invited on the trip.

“Some people might say”…. Who are these “some people”? Don’t have the ovaries to mention them by name, or is it just you, Andrea?

Seriously, there should be a standing rule that a person who prefaces anything with “Some people” (or anything similar) should be called-out immediately, regardless of who or what they’re talking about.

  14. Von Cracker says:

    Tweety voted for Bush.
