Oh, but Obama is a celebrity and is uppity. I really do laugh out loud when I think about the category 5 hurricane shi#storm we would see on the news if this was about Obama. He’d be so toast man.
This is what happens when science is shunned. Sometimes I feel we’re on the fast track to the Dark Ages. In part, I blame the media and it’s split screen elevation of “experts”.
On one side of the screen is a renowned scientist who has studied the issue for years, published multiple papers, and conducted thousands of experiments proving his point.
On the other side of the screen is a man/woman who has read one article on the subject and knows he’s/she’s right because… well, just because.
This split screen crap has to stop. It assigns equal status to the participants which, in most cases, doesn’t exist.
And you’re right. If this were Obama he’d be toast and accused of practicing Santeria.

Actually, there was an article about this early this year. It covered McCain’s feather and a couple of lucky doodads that Obama carries. IIRC, one of Obama’s was a little hindu god figurine. Or buddha, I can’t remember.
Carrying lucky charms, while infantile, is not the worst thing we have to worry about.
