Oh, Please… Give this to me!

Could this really be true? I guess I can only hope. Lieberman is being vetted as McCain’s VP.

Please, please please make it so! Democrats consider him a traitor, and Republicans only tolerate him because he annoys Dems. Joe Lieberman is the Linda Tripp of politics!

And yet the media narrative will be how this is good for McCain.

Alas, it does seem too good to be true so it probably won’t happen.

  2. Unstable Isotope says:

So, McCain picking Lieberman will show he can work with fake Democrats? The press will eat it up with a spoon. Just like they said the Edwards story is bad for Obama.

  3. Dana says:

I can’t see this one happening. In the first place, Mr Lieberman, if he doesn’t become Vice President, would lose his committee chairmanship, because the Democrats wouldn’t tolerate this. Second, while Mr Lieberman supports President Bush’s foreign policy, on most of the domestic issues he’s a party-line Democrat.

About the only advantage I can see for Mr McCain here would be to pick up more Jewish votes, votes which are concentrated in New York, Connecticut and Florida. New York and Connecticut are out of reach for him, and if he’s got to depend on Joe Lieberman for Florida, it doesn’t matter, he’ll lose anyway.

    Too good to be true.

But if it happened don’t count of Joe Loserman being stripped of chairmanships. Yes, the Senate dems are that bad.

Also – look to Carper to endorse McCain.

If McCain picked Lieberman to be his VP, it would be the greatest thing for the Democrats.

Between the two of them, who’d be Grandpa Simpson?

Between the two of them, who’d be Grandpa Simpson?”

No no that title belongs to McCain, like Simpson without the doughnut he visited a nuclear power plant this week….. Could not have made a worse choice. Fermi 1 , the reactor who forever stopped the breeder in this country and was the subject of the book “We almost lost Detroit” .
Who is advising this Guy ???

  7. anon says:

Guess who is next in line for Lieberman’s chairmanship of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs… (hint: it won’t make you happy).

    Carl Levin?

    From wikipedia:

Levin is a critic of the New Hampshire presidential primary’s first-in-the-nation status, saying a more diverse state (such as his own Michigan) should hold their contest first.
In April 2006, Levin was selected by Time as one of “America’s 10 Best Senators.”[4]
The American Civil Liberties Union gave him a 78% on civil liberties issues from 2005-2005.
Levin has been rated F by Gun Owners of America. He was one of the 16 senators who voted against the Vitter Amendment.
He is almost always seen wearing his glasses at the end of his nose, which has drawn much humorous attention. In response, he lightheartedly joked that the late Senator Strom Thurmond (while he was in office) would have never worn his glasses because they “make him look old.”[5] Daily Show host Jon Stewart refers to him both as the “kindly old shoemaker”, and “Grandpa Munster”.
An avid supporter of the non-profit civil rights organization Focus: HOPE, Levin was instrumental in the procurement of equipment and funding for their Machinist Training Institute (MTI).

Yeah, he really seems to burn me the wrong way.
