I am still saying it’s Biden.

Filed in National by on August 13, 2008

The details about who will be speaking at the convention and when are emerging:

Kansas Gov. Sebelius and Arizona Gov. Napolitano will outline Obama’s economic agenda.

Ohio Gov. Strickland and Pennsylvania Gov. Rendell will talk about how they believe the past 8 years have weakened the economy.

Pennsylvania Sen. Casey and Massachusetts Gov. Patrick will discuss how voters’ ideas, stories have influenced Obama’s economic policy.

Montana Gov. Schweitzer, former Denver Mayor Federico Peña will discuss energy and the economy.

In the evening Mark Warner will keynote, Hillary Clinton will give a headliner speech on the working class.

I think it is safe to assume that those listed above as speakers will not be the Vice Presidential nominee.  So who is left?    Reed, Dodd, Clark, Biden, Bayh, Kaine, or Richardson?

You know who I think it will be.

I think the three finalists are Biden, Kaine and Bayh. At this moment, it could be any of the three. With the Georgian War raging, and an reemergent and hostile Russia (thanks for reviving the Cold War, Bush!), the odds are it will be Biden.

  2. pandora says:

I’m not ruling out Clark. He’s been my pick from the beginning. He fills in the one area McCain is beating Obama in the polls – Iraq and National Security.

    But, really, who knows?

  3. Stella Bluez says:

    not Bayh…please not Bayh…..

  4. jason330 says:

    JOE ! JOE ! JOE !

I starting to think you may be right.

  5. biden…who confirmed our current Attorney General…

    great

  6. jason330 says:

Powell endorses Obama, to speak at the Dem convention according to Bill Kristol.

  7. pandora says:

    Damn! Say it’s so?

DV – I’m getting a real feeling that the delaware poltical chessboard is about to be flipped over.

  9. I just played a game of chess…

I like to think the checker board. these guys aren’t smart enough to play chess

Yes, the rumors are circulating fast. Obama will be endorsed by Powell at the convention. It is supposed to be a surprise, but you can’t keep this a secret.

  11. jason330 says:

Too bad Powell can’t get his reputation back.

  12. cassandra_m says:

Al Giordano thinks that Webb is probably still in the mix even tho he is a public refusnik. It would be quite a surprise, too.

As for Powell, how much of his reputation could he get back if he endorsed Obama?

  13. jason330 says:

If he really sincerely apologized I would say he could win back a bit.

That’s what I’ve been saying about Michael Castle for years too, but I’m not holding my breath for that apology.

  14. edisonkitty says:

    still Clark.

  15. David says:

I think Richardson would be the best choice. He would solidify NM, give solid credentials on both foreign and domestic policy, and bring moderation on taxes and guns.

  16. jason330 says:

No “moderates” on taxes and guns are going to come over for Richardson.

Chasing so-called moderates is a mugs games that I hope we are well past.

  17. mike w. says:

I agree with Jason. Richardson is far too divergent with Obama on taxes & guns for him to attract “moderates”

Pro-gun and/or anti-taxes voters aren’t going to be lulled into voting for Obama simply because Richardson is on the ticket.

  18. June says:

I’m afraid Obama is going to make his choice based on which state will help him the most. He needs Biden right now with the talk of the Cold War again. But my guess is he picks boring Bayh.
