  4. Sharon says:

I Wanna Hold Your Hand by the Beatles

  5. Pandora says:

“He’s So Fine” by the Chiffons. I think I’m the oldest… and the wisest!

    Great song BTW

  6. delawaredem says:

Dear God what were you people thinking in the 70’s. The clothes, the hair styles. You were all on drugs. Oh wait….

  7. “I Can See Clearly Now” by Johnny Nash

  8. FSP says:

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds – the Elton John cover version.

  9. rsmitty says:

Nice! “In the Year 2525 (Exordium & Terminus)” by Zager & Evans. If that had influence on me, it’s that it is certainly LSD-infused and my ramblings sound the same. 😀

For me it was Freddie and the Dreams “I’m telling you now”
Dude, wasn’t that released, like in, 1954 or something? You’re younger than I thought!

  10. rsmitty says:

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds – the Elton John cover version.
Freaking child! Still in size 5 Pampers or something?

  11. edisonkitty says:

“Roses are Red” by Bobby Vinton. Sorry, Pandora.

  12. Dana says:

“The Doggie in the Window” by Patti Page

    April 22, 1953

  13. jason330 says:

Pandora , I think that we were born the same day (at least the same week) two years part.

  14. Sharon says:

When I looked up mine, “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” was the top song the entire month. *sigh* And Dana must be older than dirt! 😉

  15. Joe M says:

    Great song, Sharon!

  16. Pandora says:

    J, I’m the 18th.

  17. Stella Bluez says:

    Oh P,

    I’m a bit older than you….you know.

  18. Pandora says:

    Stella, what’s your song?

  19. Joe M says:

    Greensleeves?

  20. Old Shoe Lady Who Knew What to Do..... says:

  23. JohnnyX says:

(Just Like) Starting Over by John Lennon (Jan. 19, 1981).

I’m sort of ashamed to say that off the top of my head I can’t even think of how that song goes…

  24. Pandora says:

You baby! 1981??? The year I gradu — Nevermind.

  25. liberalgeek says:

That is a great song. Off the Double Fantasy album (those were those big black vinyl disks).

  26. Joe M says:

    Those are records, LG.

An album is a collections of songs, irrespective of the medium.

  27. liberalgeek says:

    Not in 1981 it wasn’t.

  28. “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor. Blech!

  29. liberalgeek says:

I’m going to hum that every time I see you now, Matthews…

  30. Pandora says:

Geek is right. We had albums. Records were 45s. 45s, you ask? Look it up!!

  31. I’m with Joe on this one. We still have “albums” today. An album is a collected group of songs outside of the standard “physical” album definition. For instance: “The new David Byrne digital album is awesome!”

  32. Von Cracker says:

OMFSM it’s “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart” by The Bee Gees

  33. Von Cracker says:

Ha! Dana’s born a day after me mum.

  34. Joe M says:

    VC,

That’s the first Flying Spaghetti Monster reference that I’ve seen on the DE blogosphere.

    ARR!

  35. Von Cracker says:

you got it! wasn’t sure if anyone would….

  36. Sharon says:

So, I had to look up my husband’s as well…Mrs. Robinson by Simon & Garfunkel 🙂

  37. Mr Dinosaur poop. says:

“A Little Bird Told Me” by Evelyn Knight 1949

  38. Dana says:

I may be old, but I ain’t dead yet.

  39. JohnnyX says:

Ha, I know what records are – don’t you guys worry. I was a proud owner of a copy of Thriller on vinyl during my youth. Incidentally, in third grade when we had to do a biography of a person and come in dressed up like them to present it I chose Michael Jackson – wore one white glove and lip sync-ed and everything. I suppose I could have made it more accurate by darkening my face with makeup, but actually at that point in MJ’s career he was growing ever paler anyway.

Anyway – back to the records. I actually just a year or so ago bought a new turntable and have been steadily amassing a collection of old records courtesy of Goodwill for $1 a pop. There are some great finds out there if you take the time.

  40. Joanne Christian says:

Joe M.–I am crying over the “Greensleaves” comment…you have my kids even laughing too–great one!!! But–they thought I would be some Gregorian Chant….

  41. Joanne Christian says:

Oh yea!!! I’m Venus by Frankie Avalon–and that’s it–I’m changing my driver’s license, Acme Super Saver card, and applying for my new screen name here at DL right now. Pandora–I found a screen name!!! This was a bunch of fun….I already have some great stories with this song…..so it was a double hit to see it pop-up!! I love it!!!! And Frankie Avalon too!!!
