  1. RSmitty says:

    Yes, they can win.

They do have the offense to overcome LA’s resurgent pitching, but the concern there is if they are patient enough to force LA’s pitchers to not throw junk, and come at them, in the zone. Patience is exactly how they got to Sabathia, against Milwaukee.

The Phils starting pitching has shown that they can indeed hang in there, but that’s where other concerns lay. Which Brett Myers will show up (insert bad jokes here)? The 3-9 Brett, or the post-recall Brett (the good starts, not the regression starts). If it’s the post-recall Brett, then Philly flies (phlies?) to LA with a 2-0 series lead.

LA is a perfect park for Moyer and Blanton to pitch in (pitcher-friendly), compared to CBP. Problem there is, LA is a great small-ball offense and Moyer and Blanton can give up doubles and singles. At best, Philly takes two in LA, but they need to be careful to not be swept there. My gut feeling is they go 1-2 in LA.

Ultimately, I think Philly wins this series (oh, yes, I do), but it’s going to 6 or 7 games.

Yes, you are my hero. I thought you wanted that kept secret, tho. Consider yourself Snoop-dogged.

  4. jason330 says:

    My fellow prisoners,

Does it really matter? Please keep in mind that the Phillies are from Philadelphia.

  5. RSmitty says:

    Phucking realist bastard.

Go build a deck, you hater.

  6. pandora says:

Smitty, he has a deck. I was there. I saw it.

  7. Von Cracker says:

    Totally agree with RSmitty.

The series should go at least 6 games…but I’ll say Phils in 7.

  8. h. says:

    Phils in a sweep.

  9. Truth Teller says:

Beware of Manny he may be crazy but he can hit

  10. h. says:

Dodgers aren’t that good. 13 out of the 20 runs they scored against the Cubs came with two outs. That doesn’t happen very often.

  11. Donsquishy says:

13x”s it happened sounds like a lot.

good teams score runs with 2 outs. It’s how the Red Sox have won a few world series.

i’d be nervous actually. It says something about their hitters.

  12. Dominique says:

My biggest concern is that Dodgers isn’t possessive. Drop the apostrophe, please.

Seriously, my biggest concern is jet lag. I don’t know the exact numbers and I could be wrong, but I don’t remember the Phils doing particularly well in West Coast games this season.

  13. Andy says:

and the Dodgers did not do well inj East Coast games so a push Phils in 7
