QOD
A few weeks ago I asked how low would the GOP go. I think we are finding out. But, we have seen that their “tactics” only last a week or two at best. Which means, this Ayers, terrorist thing is going to end, they are going to have push polled something else to see what works and go with that for the last 2 weeks.
So, how low will they go now? Because they have gone pretty low already

They are getting scary. Here’s a recent report:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/10/09/AR2008100903169_pf.html
McCain replied “He’s right” to an angry and unhinged tirade from a supporter. This isn’t funny, it’s scary.
But, like the earlier article on the problem of racism and Workforce Housing, perhaps this is starting to cause a backlash.
Former Gov. William Milliken (Michigan) is criticizing McCain, and he backed McCain in the primaries.

It’s time for the Republican party to step forward. They need to put a stop to this and to repudiate these tactics. It’s getting ugly.
I light of the bush years and McCains current rhetoric – I would not be surprised if deranged and violent GOPers begin to talk about open rebellion in the event of an Obama win.
The mainstream Republican today has long since given up any claim to real patriotism that honors the ideals and aspirations of our founding fathers.
Republicans have already speculated about “riots” if Obama loses. I think what they really meant was that they would riot if Obama wins. I can’t remember what it is that Limbaugh said – something about wanting riots at the Democratic National Convention.
Has there ever been a more dishonorable candidate than John McCain? I don’t think McCain deserves to stand on the stage with Barack Obama.
You could have avoided it all by running a qualified candidate. Many Americans won’t tolerate Obama. He hasn’t earned their respect. Since he seems up in the polls, that’s the go-ahead sign that “respect” isn’t getting traction in the media.
Hence, the gloves are off.
An old person may not be an asskicker, but he will bring out the ugly in you by making you fight him.
I can’t even throw feces at that one anymore. His forlornness is touching.
“The mainstream Republican today has long since given up any claim to real patriotism that honors the ideals and aspirations of our founding fathers.”
Says this from a man backing the socialist?
The Republican Party had better get its act together and put a stop to the escalating rhetoric. They are on very dangerous ground, and better pray their hate-filled language doesn’t result in hate-filled action.
Now if McCain actually wanted to show leadership he could rein in his angry mob. Instead, with each passing rally, he seems to be calling them to action by fueling the fire.
All of this is making me very nervous. Forget the economy, this situation – should it continue down this path – has the potential to rip this country apart.
When you know what a socialist is, Tom, get back to us.
“All of this is making me very nervous. Forget the economy, this situation – should it continue down this path – has the potential to rip this country apart.”
GOOD.
“When you know what a socialist is, Tom, get back to us.”
I’m back
With nothing.
Luckily the country seems to fear Obama’s imaginary socialism less than they fear McCain’s real incompetence.
Hummmm, I didn’t know that a ban on socialism is in the Constitution.
If that’s the case, then we’ve been Unconstitutional since the 1800s!
And Jockim…
I’d rather deal with a person who appears respectable, and shows the promise of earing my respect completely, than someone who thinks respect for him is inherent, all the while proving he doesn’t deserve it.
Says this from a man backing the socialist
I still dont’ get what is wrong with backing a socialist. correct me if I’m wrong, but the Conservative/Free Market philosphy hasn’t exactly panned out and it seems we need a change.
We are regulating the banking system as we speak to the point where the government is taking over lending. Apparently, even conservatives acknowledge that some sort of socialism is needed to PROTECT THE COUNTRY.
speaking of Socialism…
how is Canada doing these days?
“All of this is making me very nervous. Forget the economy, this situation – should it continue down this path – has the potential to rip this country apart.”
GOOD.
I thought the whole thing that John has been preaching was “Country First”?? “Suspend my campaign for the good of the nation”…
I’m assuming you’re American- and you want to tear this country apart? Man, I’d love for you to tell that in front of Vet’s that are just coming back from Iraq… I’m sure they’d appreciate your sentiments…
shortstuff,
fyi, he’s a troll so he does a lot of this stuff to get a rise out of people…
What would Obama need to do at this point to “earn” their respect exactly? That’s a ludicrous thing to say. It is the same as the people who say they don’t know him. Who is he? Delaware Dem said it here recently – if you don’t know by now, you don’t want to know. People say they don’t trust him. Why would this be? What is the mistrust based on, I wonder?
Anyway, back to the question of the post – what will the GOP do next? After the last few days of what amounts to lynch mobs, I have absolutely no idea. But it’s Obama who hasn’t gained respect. Interesting.
If I’m a troll, you’re a hobgoblin!
I’m telling you – they’ll bomb something and blame it on their political best friends, the islamofascists….
globlin your milkshake!
