Cassandra, I think you should post that link you posted this morning – the one on white privilege. IMO, it ties in perfectly with this post.

  2. Von Cracker says:

    Scathing!

I saw it when it aired. Maher is awesome…or at least his writes are!

  3. Dominique says:

Cassandra – In all seriousness, how do you feel about Barack Obama getting 90% of the black vote? Do you think it’s racist for blacks to vote against John McCain because he’s white?

You will need to provide proof that this is the case. Not anecdotes, but real live, polling quality data. And your proof will need to take into account the fact that black people have been voting in overwhelming majorities for Democrats for most of the the lifetimes of the people posting here. Repubs got excited the last two cycles that they may be able to make some inroads into the African American community without remembering that they used a bit of ephemeral wedge politics to carve out enough socially conservative blacks to vote against gay marriage in a few states to make a difference to the election.

But here we have folks not exactly modeling good behavior in the race-neutral candidate selection process, so maybe some white people have some accountability for the racial focus of their votes.

  5. Dom,

Him being black may be one factor, but 90% (or slightly less) of blacks tend to vote Democrat anyhow.

  6. Donsquishy says:

I’d like to set the record straight I have been calling Dom a racist.

    She isn’t.

    She is a bigot.

  7. Donsquishy says:

I’d like to paraphrase dom’s question to Cassandra:

    Cas?

Don’t you find it odd that those people are all voting for the black guy?
