St. Louis Loves Some Obama

Filed in National by on October 18, 2008

In 2004, John Kerry lost Missouri by about 200,000 votes. Today, Obama held a rally in St. Louis, MO.  100,000 people showed up to see Barack Obama speak under the Gateway Arch.  That is a whole lot of anti-American Americans in one place.Photo Courtesy of WSJ

Who was the opening act? Bruce Springsteen?

  2. nemski says:

    No, Democracy. 🙂

  3. Dominique says:

Or gullibility. Either way, it’s pretty impressive.

  4. Donsquishy says:

that’s a lot of people that now fraternize with a known terrorist!

If Springsteen opened for McCain w/100,000 people , there would be a stampede for the exits as McCain was being announced.

  6. pandora says:

Impressive, shame they don’t represent the “real” Missouri. Check out the latest video gaffe from the McCain campaign.

Is this really the new McCain strategy? Pit American against American?

  7. Unstable Isotope says:

    pandora,

Did McCain just lose Virginia with that remark by his spokeswoman? What an idiot she is. The anchor even gave her a chance to clarify and she just dug the hole deeper. If I were a NoVA resident I would be pretty angry.

So, I suppose Delaware is not a part of the “real America?” It’s a blue state after all.

  8. Dominique says:

If you were a No VA resident you would never have given a second thought to voting for McCain. It’s Obama all the way in No Va.

  9. pandora says:

Does that mean it’s okay to say they’re not “real” Virginians? I guess only “real” Americans support McCain. Stooopid strategy.

  10. nemski says:

    Who’s a real Delawarean?

  11. Dominique says:

Oh, something else to be upset about. Yippee. You guys will find fault in any word uttered by a McCain supporter at this point.

My husband was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. His entire family lives in Virginia. I just asked him if he thinks No Virginians are “real Virginians” and he immediately answered “No, why do you ask?”

Northern Virginia, while obviously a part of Virginia, is more politically aligned with Maryland and DC; therefore, it’s not uncommon for residents of the rest of Virginia to feel that way. Why are you pretending not to know this?

  12. nemski says:

I guess that means Senator Warner is not a real Virginian.

  13. Dominique says:

No real Virginian would have married Liz Taylor. 😉

Warner was born and raised in Washington, DC. He did, however, go to college and law school in real Virginia (Lexington and Charlottesville), so he could get in on a technicality, I suppose.

  14. Al Mascitti says:

Dom: Northern Virginia might be more liberal than the rest of the state, but it’s hardly Massachusetts.

The real irony, of course, is that the slackjawed are happy to take the tax money liberals contribute to the state’s coffers, while condemning them as “not real Americans.”

Sort of like liberals vs. the rich.

Sort of like liberals vs. the rich.

You mean like how the rich find 1001 devious ways to channel the wealth generated by the working class and middle class to themselves?

    See what I mean?
