Comment Rescue: Bigotry In Delaware.

Is it a coincidence that Jack picked Matt? I do not think so. I do not care what religion they are, but I can not see myself voting for a pair of those who do not represent my beliefs. At least one of the highest executive officers in the state should represent a majority of constituents in the state.

Mr. D’Armagny, it is not a surprise that you have all of the intelligence of a blood sucking tick, since you are anti-semite bigot, but here in Delaware, we elect the Lt. Governor separate from the Governor.  Hence, Jack Markell did not pick Matt Denn.   Jack Markell decided to run for Governor, and that placed him in a primary campaign against John Carney, the current Lt. Governor.  Matt Denn decided to run for Lt. Governor, which placed him in a primary campaign against Wilmington City Council President Ted Blunt, until Blunt dropped out in the spring.

And you say you do not care about religion, but in the next phrase of the same fucking sentence you state that you very much care about religion.   You say could never vote for two Jews at the same time.  One, maybe.  But two??  God no.   You say you don’t care about religion, but you require that at least one of the top executive to be of your religion, to share your beliefs.   Not that is funny, because whenever right wing theocratic loons speak of America being a religious country, they speak of the Judeo-Christian heritage in our society and laws.    Your comment reveals that to be the lie that it is.   You don’t want to offend the Jews, but God forbid they actually have authority over you.  For you can’t handle that.  You need at least one of the top executive officers to be like you.  Quota, much?

Alex D’Armagny is an anti-semitic bastard.

you have all of the intelligence of a blood sucking tick

You’re being insulting to ticks. Ticks don’t discriminate.

  2. nemski says:

Boy, some “Christians” can really hold a grudge. It’s been over 2,000 years, get over it.

  3. jason330 says:

I was actually surprised that it took one of these nit wits so long to express this sentiment.

  4. Rebecca says:

Ya wanna bet he lives in Indian River?

  5. RSmitty says:

Great job shining light on this, DD. Intolerance is bullshit and for the intellectually weak.

*I have to be honest, I was looking for the connection you tend to make, but you didn’t do it. I want to point that out, because for as much as I take you to task, I want to be fair and give you kudos for channeling it. You made a powerful post, DD.

  6. jason330 says:

BTW – All Republicans are scum…

  7. RSmitty says:

So, as I said, good on you, DD.

jason, don’t you have a book press to operate or something?

  8. delawaredem says:

To be fair, there is a little bit of a connection:

“Now that is funny, because whenever right wing theocratic loons speak of America being a religious country, they speak of the Judeo-Christian heritage in our society and laws. Your comment reveals that to be the lie that it is. ”

But I was only referring to right wing theocratic loons, not all Republicans and conservatives in general.

  9. Joanne Christian says:

You are coming around Deldem…thanks for keeping your appointments.

  10. pandora says:

I keep rereading that comment. I have trouble finishing since I freeze up every time I reach the words “a pair of those.”

  11. jason330 says:

Bad enough to be a bigot, but a cowardly bigot at that.

  12. RSmitty says:

Actually DD, that paragraph I don’t hold in contempt.

    How’s that one grab ya’?

  13. Evan Colben says:

Château d’Artigny was built by François Coty in France.

François Coty was a fascist who started the Solidarité Française, a paramilitary group similar to the SA in Germany.

François Coty married Yvonne Alexandrine Le Baron.

Hence Alex D’Armagny. I think who ever posted is a student of 1930s fascist groups.

Thank heavens for google and wikipedia.

  14. jason330 says:

Thanks for that leg work Evan. I’m even more sickened now.

  15. Dorian Gray says:

Interesting phrase used there: “who do not represent my beliefs”. When will these dopes learn that your “beliefs” only mean something to you. That rest of us couldn’t care less.

“We don’t respect beliefs; we evaluate reasons.”
    -Sam Harris

  16. Rebecca says:

When ever I see the word “believe” I know it is some wack-job who knows he’s wrong but wishes he was right. Believe is a red-flag word for me.

  17. Bus Girl says:

Someone told me last night that she heard an anti-semetic comment in line at a grocery in Brandywine Hundred re: these two Jews won’t be elected together.

Horrible. But not just below the canal.

These were said to be Carney people. I am repeating this, I know, second-hand. Sorry.

  18. RSmitty says:

But not just below the canal.

Oh, that’s pleasant. Thanks. I can’t believe you just labeled Jason like that.

  19. nospam says:

    Rebecca,

I know you’re from up north, but please check your maps! 😉 Indian River isn’t a place. It’s a school district.

That’d be like saying someone was from Red Clay or Cape Henlopen. It wouldn’t make any sense (unless someone literally lived at Cape Henlopen State Park, in the latter instance).

  20. MJ says:

Those of us in the Jewish community down here in Sussex (yes, we have a decent sized community) have been surprised that we haven’t heard some of the nitwits in the Indian River School District come out with comments like those in the post. But many of us are not voting for Jack because he’s Jewish. Are we proud – yes, but we’re even prouder that he’s a decent, hard working public servant.

  21. Alex D'Armagny says:

My comment referred to a common political and fiscal agenda, not at all to religion. I am shocked by the violence of most of the comments and by the display of ridiculous conclusions, geographical bias and stereotypical associations. I do realize that the passions run high so close to the election. My sincere apologies to all those offended by this misunderstanding.

  22. pandora says:

Yeah right. Know what you can do with your faux outrage? No misunderstanding. Your message came through loud and clear.

  23. cassandra_m says:

My comment referred to a common political and fiscal agenda

In which case, your claim that the Gov and Lt Gov should represent a majority of the state’s constituents makes no sense. Especially since you need a majority of the state’s constituency’s votes to get to the office.

  24. G Rex says:

“My comment referred to a common political and fiscal agenda, not at all to religion.”

So wait, you’re saying Jews are tight with money? That might not be such a bad thing for Delaware…

  25. nemski says:

Apparently pandora and cassandra_m have everything well in hand. Alex, may god have mercy on your soul.

  26. Joanne Christian says:

you got that right nemski…I pleaded diplomatic immunity, devil’s advocate, AND goodwill ambassador w/ DOCUMENTATION, and it still took 2 weeks for the blisters to heal. My mind is still needing some time. I would have never lasted as a POW. But, they didn’t put me in time out, so I’m forever grateful.

  27. pandora says:

We love you, Joanne. My finger was a little too quick on the trigger. Should have considered the source.
