I’ll say what we all know to be true. Republicans like being on TV. They like bitching about the gays. The like getting all the benefits of being in the US without paying for them. But they HATE governing. You think I’m lying? Check it…

Rasmussen’s poll of the 2012 Republican presidential primary:

Sarah Palin 64%
Mike Huckabee 12%
Mitt Romney 11%
Bobby Jindal 4%
Charlie Crist 2%
Tim Pawlenty 1%
Undecided 6%

And the piece de resistance:

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of Republican voters say Alaska Governor Sarah Palin helped John McCain’s bid for the presidency…

It’ll be one of the bottom three, or someone not on the list. This is a name ID play.

    But the 69%? Yikes.

I think the future may lie with someone like Charlie Crist or Mitch Daniels (gov. of IN).

They are going to run Newt and lose by a gajillion votes.

  7. is there any Irony in the number 69 and it being Sarah Palin?

Totally disagree FSP. She brought out the base. He wasn’t drawing crowds until she joined the ticket. She may have lost him tons of independents, but I’d say she brought out an equal number of GOP voters who would have stayed home because they were uninspired by their ‘maverick’ candidate who opposed them on most of their hot-button issues. I’d say she was a net plus for McCain. It’s not like he ever really had a chance to win against a guy half his age who was running a flawless campaign. Oh, and electing him was going to change the course of history. Yeah, kind of hard to overcome obstacles like that.

If Sarah Palin wants a future in National politics she is going to have to put herself out there – and not just with interviews with FOX.

Granted, Palin brought out the far right. She completely validated them. Good luck trying to keep this group off the national ticket.

Sarah Palin is to the Republican Party as Dennis Kucinich is to Democrats. The base loves them, but they’ll never win the middle who views them as scary.

And Obama’s victory was more than symbolic. America agreed with him on the issues. To say that he won just because he ran a good campaign, was young and black is insulting.

  10. pandora says:

And… his youth and skin color (as well as his name) were Obama’s obstacles, not McCain’s.

I think that Dave Burris is right — this is more of a Q rating than a real poll.

Shortly after Al Gore lost in 2000, the CW was that 2004 was Lieberman’s to win.

    How’d that work out, exactly?

And Sarah Palin is going to get a talk show on FOX and a post as a blogger over at Michelle Malkin’s place and that will be that.

  12. dumbest comment of the day She may have lost him tons of independents, but I’d say she brought out an equal number of GOP voters

So exciting the base and losing the election was a good thing?

And if Airhead brought out the SAME amount of Indies as GOP BASE, why didn’t they win?
