Stab it, drowned it, shoot it, and still it lives….

Filed in National by on November 15, 2008

A lot of people continue to document the fact that Republicans and outright Republican shills are WAY over represented on TV news and yet the myth of the liberal media is the unkillable Rasputin meme of our age.

Those are the guests. Let’s see who runs the shows and determines the course of the interviews…

This Week hosted by a Dem and featuring a panel of three Dems and one Republican

    MTP hosted by a Dem

Chris Matthews – A Dem…surprise!… who, btw, has announced that it is his job to help make this presidency a success. Show features a panel of at least two or three hard-core Dem columnists and a token RINO.

I’ll give you Fox. While Chris Wallace doesn’t come off as a partisan, Britt Hume and Bill Kristol certainly do. Mara Liasson is definitely right-leaning. While he holds his own, Juan Williams is certainly outnumbered in that room.

Kudos to Bob Schieffer for possibly being the only remaining objective voice on political talk shows. I have no idea what his political persuasion is and that’s the way it should be.

All in all, I’d say the Dems are pretty well represented.

  2. pandora says:

Token RINO? Are you kidding with that terminology, Dom? Have you gone over to the Far Right and their politics of religion and anti-abortion? Is that really where you’ve landed? Because there’s only one group who uses that term, and it isn’t moderate Republicans or Libertarians.

  3. liberalgeek says:

Methinks she took the red pill.

  4. pandora says:

I’m hoping she’s kidding, and Smitty’s not reading.

Matt’s life is a living hell.

So you know, Jason, we refuse to claim Ted Turner.

  7. anonone says:

How terrible it is for an American pundit (not a journalist) to express his intent to help the U.S. Presidency to succeed! I guess Duminique hopes the presidency is a failure, which is why she is a repub. Our nation is in the horrible state that it is in largely because of failed repub governance and an enabling right-wing press corps.

Since Duminique would prefer pundits who want the presidency to fail, one must wonder why do repubs like Duminique hate America?

  8. jason330 says:

    A1,

In addition to your observation that her patriotism is lacking I would add that her logic is weak. If the hosts are so liberal you’d think they’d want to get some liberals on the air. Hmmm…?

BTW – You don’t have to guess, it is obvious from her many comments that she is pulling for the President elect to fail

  9. anonone says:

Exactly, Jason. The whole “liberal bias” meme only exists because big media has a right wing bias and uses so-called “liberal bias” claim as another excuse for the failures of the political party it props up.

A media that had a true liberal bias wouldn’t continually proclaim that bias, let alone call it a fault.

Duminique also forgets how hard Tweety tried to help Bush’s Presidency to succeed.

  10. Dominique says:

OMFG, is ‘token’ now a bad word?!? Are you kidding me? Which group did I offend by using that word…REPUBLICANS????

You guys are the reason people consider the word ‘liberal’ a slur. You will find an insult in anything. Everything is offensive. Of course, this is the group that thought it was insulting to call Obama ‘articulate’, so why am I surprised? You are completely unreasonable and, frankly, laughable.

You’re absolutely right, anoone, I have forgotten Tweety’s efforts to help the Bush presidency to succeed. Please remind me how he did that.

BTW, I guess Jason is following DelDem’s lead now. I wonder how all of you would react to that headline if it referred to Dems. Yeah, I’m so offensive. What a bunch of fucking hypocrites you are.

  11. jason330 says:

    Short memory?

Matthews was a huge Iraq war booster.

  12. jason330 says:

    Ha!

Talk about taking mock offense. Hilarious comment from start to end. You’ve outdone yourself.

Anyway for people not so deluded as Dom. The headline is a reference to the fact the the “media is liberal” meme is, like Rasputin, hard to kill.

  13. anonone says:

You guys are the reason people consider the word ‘liberal’ a slur.

Really, Duminique? Of course, the liberal media including Limbaugh, Hannity, and Coulter had nothing to do with that, right?

Your lack of awareness about Tweety’s cheerleading for Bush is just another indication of how ignorant you are of the right wing media sycophants. Do your own research.

And nice closing with the F-word. You’re obviously learning how to present cogent insightful commentary from your boyfriend Mike.

Dummy is one spittlefull of stupid.

Is Mike really her BFF? With all that family over there watching?

  16. Nancy Willing says:

    Bob is soooooooo mainstream….yeh,
    WIKI says:
:Schieffer is the older brother of Tom Schieffer, a friend and former business partner of President George W. Bush, who was appointed U.S. Ambassador to Australia 2001-2005 by President Bush and as of November, 2005 is currently the U.S. Ambassador to Japan.”

    And
But just remember who Bob Schieffer is when you hear these prophets chant their mantra. Bob Schieffer comes from Texas, and he tends to root for pols from that part of the country. And, according to what he told Larry King, he isn’t too high on those “northeastern” swells. More remarkably, he’s a long-time personal friend of George Bush—and Bush will be one of the evening’s two candidates! Indeed, Schieffer used to play golf with Bush. He used to go to ball games with Bush. The two men even went to spring training together, according to Howard Kurtz’s well-ignored profile! And Schieffer’s brother, Tom Schieffer, is a long-time, close business associate of Bush. Indeed, after Bush found his way to to the White House, Tom Schieffer slept in the Lincoln Bedroom! Today he serves as U.S. ambassador to Australia. Family friend Bush sent him there.
