Get out your tin foil hats

A dude that sends me stuff on occasion and most likely stops by the blog, thinks he is funny, leaves comments and changes his name all the time  has sent me this youtube video.  It is a clip from the movie Long Kiss Goodnight with Samuel “snakes on the motherfuckin plane” Jackson and Gina Davis made in 1996.  The bad guy talks about the government (CIA) basically creating 9/11 and blaming it on the muslims.  The eery part is though, the guy says 4000 people and says the WTC buildings.

makes you wonder…

Yeah, its really creepy until you remember that 9/11 wasn’t the first time the WTC was attacked. It was first attacked in 93. It wouldn’t be hard to guess that a more succesfull attack might cost that many lives.

What’s the Bush-Rice mantra? “Nobody could have predicted that…[fill in the obvious here]”

Right on, Jim. One of the criticisms of Rudy Giuliani’s terrorism planning is that he put the disaster HQ in the only building in NYC that had been attacked by terrorists, the WTC. Postulating terror attacks has been done in many fictional places. Wasn’t there an album by some rap artist that came out right around the same time that showed the WTC burning? (It was quickly pulled, IIRC). I think around 3000 died in the WTC on 9/11.

  4. I don’t disagree jim, it’s just the number of people that they threw out there is a little eerie. Why 4000? why not 10,000? It’s a movie they tend to snesationalize you know….

  5. JimD says:

2,603 is the official number of those who died in the attacks on the WTC (not including the assholes flying the planes). There is nothing much eerie about guessing 4,000. If you’d said that 4,000 people would die in a terrorist attack before 9/11 that was going crazy with numbers. After 9/11, 4,000 seems low, even though it would be the worst in our nation’s history. The number is close, but that’s because we’re looking back on it as some sort of prediction which means we have a bit of a bias.

It would be just like the CIA to steal the idea from a cheesy movie, though.

Umm, why did that have to cut off her sweat jacket?
