Amen!!!!! Let them show America how much they value party over any chance of helping Americans. Did you see that in Elkhart Indiana that Cnn had a woman quoted as saying you could either be a topless dancer or unemployed.
Go Republicans! They are all for topless dancer employment.

I have several book suggestions for them to read out loud to pass the time. Perhaps they can read from Stephen Colbert’s I Am America, and So Can You or the Daily Show’s America, the Book. (At least it would be amusing)

If they want to learn something perhaps they could read Krugman’s book.

    I have a question !

When Pres. Obama was campaigning he said he was going to create 5 million jobs and now he just said 3 million. Thats a big difference ! Why is he alway saying saving jobs, I am not sure what to believe if he is creating or saving. We need new jobs !!

  4. liz says:

Deregulation started under a Reagan. In the 1990’s Clinton continued the process with a republican Congress. Bush 41 and the idiot son drove the banker giveaways home.

Both political parties are connected to the banksters/gangsters. It is ironic while Obama was talking about reigning in the bankers, his economic team were meeting with them, begging them to come up with answers. Tim Geithners plan is a farce, written by the bankgsters for the banksters.

If the American people fall for this bull crap, and do nothing to stop it…if we dont get ‘angry’ enough to say, no hell no….we are falling off the financial cliff….taking decades to recover. So you have two choices…demand Castle, Carper Kaufman hold meetings with US, or bend over and grab your ankles.

  5. X Stryker says:

Todd, the Republicans hate creating jobs and forced him to create less. But the good news is when you create jobs directly, that leads to further job creation in the private sector.

So if Obama creates 3 million jobs, that will likely lead to 5 million total new jobs by 2012.

  6. Todd L says:

X Stryker, so why is the number alway changing?
    Its a huge amount !

  7. liz says:

The repukes took billions out for aid to states, and education. The senate plan is a giveaway to nuclear power companies. Billions for nukes people. Wall Street would never give that industry money to create more, which is why there havent been any in 30 years. The repukes shoved that little goody in the Senate bill. We should stick with the House bill…get on the phone people~~call Carper, Castle and Kaufman. If 50 of us called from Delaware they would pay attention…may not do anything, but we would get their attention.

  8. X Stryker says:

Todd, the number changes every time Harry Reid allows the GOP to cut another provision from the bill they’re going to filibuster anyway.

  9. Todd L says:

X Stryker, not sure if its much of a recovery plan for jobs ? Not sure why all the pork.. ATV paths, tennis courts, parks and etc. lots of money not very well borrowed if you ask me !

  10. liz says:

Todd: where exactly in the plan is: ATV paths, tennis courts, parks etc.? I think all that was stripped.

  11. Todd L says:

Liz, well be be honest if it was all stripped or not. But it makes you wonder why was it in there in the first place ?

  12. Todd L says:

  13. h. says:

Todd, the #’s keep changing because he has no fucking clue how many jobs will be created. They don’t want you to know what this plan really is. That’s why they want to push this spending bill through so quickly. The more time people have to pick it apart, the more people will start to question it.

  14. Unstable Isotope says:

Todd: those things are jobs. It’s called investing in infrastructure. Under the Republican theories of pork, I doubt the Golden Gate Bridge would be built. “Shovel ready” projects have to be somewhere, and benefit someone’s community. The hope is that the money is spread enough so that every community benefits. It’s tough because the so-called moderates keep cutting good projects (aid to states, money to build schools) to give more useless tax breaks to the more affluent.

  15. h. says:

What happens when these ” shovel ready” jobs are complete? Do these people still have jobs?

  16. Unstable Isotope says:

When the “shovel ready” jobs are complete the economy will have recovered and they can get different jobs or be hired full time.

  17. h. says:

    Uh,huh ….. good answer.

  18. Phantom says:

    Wow h,
You don’t understand basic economics nor the concept of experience. First, if we sit around with thumbs up our asses all we are going to get is our thumbs stuck deeper while your world collapses. Since there are no alternative ideas that have any chance of working besides some type of government stimulus it is better to have it done ASAP. As for the jobs that are “temporary” they will provide income for a period of time along with experience from that project to then signficantly increase an employees capability at finding another “long-term” (really wtf is long term when anyone can be let go at anytime and it doesn’t even matter if you do something useful and/or required) position after the project completes. In the meantime while the project exists there is new employment which provides more tax money which in turn leads to more projects.

  19. pandora says:

Agreed, Phantom. Gotta get the engine going.

  20. liz says:

Where is the freakin republican Plan. They have’nt offered anything to resolve the crisis, they created. Castle’s statements never deliver what he “thinks we should do”, Carper stands with Castle, and Kaufman proports to be independent…..were these guys sent to the same “no nothing, say nothing, do nothing” school.
