UPDATED: Pointless, But What The Heck

Filed in National by on February 11, 2009

UPDATE per Atrios:

It’s smaller, but it looks like they’re adding at least some of the smart stuff (school funds, state aid) and taking out at least a bit of the dumb stuff (at least reducing tax breaks for home and car purchases).

So save your dime.

So Senate has passed its version of the economic recovery package. Thanks to tom Carper, it includes a decrease in education funding, including the state stabilization funds, school modernization grants, and Head Start. Now, the House and Senate are meeting to resolve the differences between the two bills; the goal is to pass the final legislation this week.

It is probaly pointless because we have the WORST BLUE STATE congressional delegation in the country, but we should probably call Kauffman, Carper and Castle now and ask them to support the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and to fund the education items at the levels contained in the House bill.

Carper
Wilmington: (302) 573-6291
Dover: (302) 674-3308
Georgetown: (302) 856-7690

Castle
Wilmington: (302) 429-1902
Dover: (302) 736-1666
Georgetown: (302) 856-3334

They also scaled back the payroll tax break.

Thanks to Carper, there will be a deal, a very good deal for the country, a huge boost to Obama administration, and the first stage to many other important advances.

The bill is going to pass with or without Castle’s support. Let’s all call him up and encourage him to vote against it (with our best and strongest wingnut reasons) so he does. That way we can use it against him when he runs for the Senate.

Weasel that he is, he will probably vote for the bill now – UNLESS WE CAN STOP HIM!

Carper and Castle are frauds. They are in the pockets of the bankster/gangsters.

I just called all three of their offices, wilm, dc. and Gtown. I also told them that we the public want them in a town hall meeting, where we can ask them questions, not hiding behind some talk show with their lame statements. They work for us, we don’t work for them.

Kaufman, Carper and Castle you need to get one thing straight. You are going to have to decide whose side you are on…the bankster/gangsters and propping them up, so they can rob the people….or stand with the people. It is a fact that every dollar going to the banks, we get $.32 cents back….bad deal…we dont accept it, and we will not accept you making decisions with our tax dollars without one bit of input from us. Now schedule those meetings. If you are afraid to put together a meeting as individuals…fine, get your body guards and all three of you appear in the same place and talk directly to us.

Call Senator Reid, he said all this in ‘new money’ which means it is an increase over the current amounts and not a cut.

    Who is correct?

  6. You don’t even need the words BLUE STATE in there for me to agree with you.

And Protack shows he can’t do math in addition to his many deficits — this compromise bill is LESS than both the House passed version and the Senate passed version. There’s no new money added. It is a net reduction.

They also seem to have scaled back the silly tax credits for new houses and cars.
