    Well, I should say life is the basis of evolution.

    Or you could say the evolution of life being the confluence of chemical compounds, amino acids, water and radiation.

    But that’s just to complex, right? It’s sooooo much easier to say a big SkyDad did it!

    Evolution does not purport to describe the origin of life. Evolution describes the origin of species.
