    I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

  3. Unstable Isotope says:

Great news! Congratulations to Councilwoman-elect Diller! She’ll make a great addition to the Council.

  4. pandora says:

    Congratulations Councilwoman-elect Diller!

  5. liberalgeek says:

Turnout was horrendously low. I feel bad for the poll workers that had to sit there all day to watch 30 people vote.

  6. nooneimportant says:

Some of them only got to watch 10 people vote… 30 would have been considered “busy” for this election!

At least low turnout worked in our favor today! Congrats Councilwoman Elect!

  7. cassandra_m says:

    Congratulations Councilwoman-Elect!

And definitely congratulations to everyone who worked to make this happen too!

  8. anon says:

    That is a GREAT photo!

  9. Lisa Diller embodies El Somnambulo’s adopted slogan: “Not just more Democrats, better Democrats”.

A very worthy successor to another ‘better’ Democrat.

  10. Susan Regis Collins says:

Congratulations….NCCC needs all the new blood it can get. You go Girl!

  11. caped crusader says:

Did you guys ever figure out her position on WFH?

Congratulations, by the way. Is this going to become known as the Thinking Person’s Seat, like there used to be a Jewish seat on the Supreme Court?

  12. anony says:

I couldn’t be happier that Lisa will be taking this seat. I hope that she will find her niche amongst the councilmembers, and always stand up for what she believes is right. But I also hope that she is given a chance by those who enjoy knocking down well-intentioned though imperfect people who engage in public service because they truly want to make a difference and live a life of meaning. I believe Lisa will be that kind of public official and I hope that bloggers and civics alike will give her the room and time to grow into her position.

  13. Rebecca says:

Congratulations Lisa, and John. Good to know you will be looking out for the citizens of NCCo.

    Sooo sweet!

  14. PI says:

Congrats Lisa! Running for office deserves commendation in and of itself….but to WIN! is the best.
