Obama has said he will overturn Bush's restrictions on embryonic stem cell research.

(CNN) – A group of six moderate House Republicans have received permission from John Boehner to write to President Obama and urge him to lift President Bush’s ban on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research.

Congressman Mike Castle (R-DE) said that he is “pleased that John Boehner has granted his permission to take up this issue”  and is optimistic that John Boehner will continue to allow moderate Republicans to pretend not to be Boehner’s bitches.

    LOL!

Boehner only gave Castle permission to ask for the overturn so that they could have one more thing to vote against in Congress.

  2. Delaware Dem says:

File this in the anals of unnecessary grandstanding. President Obama campaigned on the need to overturn Bush’s evil stem cell orders that have cost hundreds of thousands of lives over the last eight years.

Castle knows this, so there is no need to urge him to do anything.

So Castle’s only motive is to make himself look good.

He needed permission? How old is he? Seven?

READ THE TAG! The tag was removed for some reason?

Anyway, ferthelovapete, people, if there’s no link, it’s fake news! Come on! SATIRE!

    I’m soooo embarrassed. *blush*

But, in my defense, I clicked on DD’s comment ( to the right) and the tag wasn’t displayed in the comment section.

And why would I even think to look for a tag? This is one of Jason’s posts, isn’t it? 🙂

Jason made up the getting permission business, but Castle is in the news grandstanding on this today.

    LOL!

  8. Maria Evans says:

Castle sponsored legislation in 2005 to open up more stem cell research when the GOP controlled the White House, the House and Senate. The idea that he’s “grandstanding” on this issue is ridiculous.

“The more controversial bill, sponsored by Reps. Mike Castle, R-Del., and Diana DeGette, D-Colo., would lift Bush’s 2001 ban on federal funding for new research using stem cells from embryos that had not been destroyed before August 2001.”

  9. cassandra_m says:

It is grandstanding today, as in related to today’s news and related to the news that Jason is riffing off of today. I think that we know he’s been supporting of stem cells in the past.

His bloodlust for killing frozen embryo Americans is breathtaking.

“Mike Castle supports EMBRYO MASS MURDER!!!”

    GO GET HIM CHRISTINE O’DONNELL!!

  11. Maria Evans says:

You mean jason’s pretend news or the news that Castle, who’s been trying for YEARS to get Bush’s ban reversed, is calling on Obama to reverse Bush’s ban?

Either way the idea that Castle is “grandstanding” is stupid and baseless.

it is a well known fact that Castle is kept in a cage and let out once a year for air and 4 minutes of sunlight, and of course to trick the people of delaware into voting for him
