Day 26: Mike Castle’s Betrayal of Delaware

Filed in National by on February 23, 2009

DCCC To Continue To Target Mike Castle

The DCCC says it’s targeting (via automated calls, text messages, and emails) 12 House Republicans who voted against the stimulus, arguing that they opposed middle-class tax cuts.

A sample of one of the automated calls: “Did you know Congressman Michael Castle voted against President Obama’s economic recovery plan, endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce? Castle’s empty rhetoric can’t hide that he voted to raise the AMT tax on 22 million middle class Americans and against the largest tax cut history.”

Meanwhile Carper is taking out TV ads and mailers claiming credit for “11 million kids with health insurance” (S-CHIP) – and not mentioning the stimulus at all. The mailer (and I assume the TV ad) are paid for by America’s Agenda, an odd-bedfellow PAC of Big Pharma and Big Labor.

The timing of these ads makes me think they are designed to be confused with the stimulus package.

    It is all very strange.

  2. Unstable Isotope says:

Does the ad say that Castle voted against the largest tax decrease in history? Plus that he voted against improving America’s infrastructure and improving our energy efficiency?

  3. nemski says:

    Castle is done in Delaware.

His political career is done, finito, over, finished.

Nemski….from your lips to God’s ear.

  5. a. price says:

oh let’s not do this. Robo calls have a huge taint on them. The republicans put their Taint on robo calls in the election, and people generally seem them as a dirty attack took. we have to come up with new ways of dirtily attacking people without such a huge stinky taint.
    taint

  6. nemski says:

    mmm, taintiness

  7. Unstable Isotope says:

Robocalls are cheap to produce, though, that’s why they’re used.

  8. a. price says:

fast food is cheap too. doesn’t make it good for you. Im not saying we shouldn’t attack castle and the repukes. i just want to do it in a way that doesn’t reek so much of sweaty taint

  9. anon says:

Republicans have tainted every form of communication, if you want to think that way. Nothing wrong with robocalls if you use them professionally and tactfully. The content has to be really good and the list has to be well targeted. Robocalls are cheap and they work.

  11. Day 35 of Obama’s Economic Nightmare and Day 26 of Castle’s well informed and smart vote.

Obama’s plans been given the bum’s rush by the markets. There is no confidence in him or his plans- none. The only person worse than him is Geithner.

Your rants against Mr Castle simply are done to hide the failures of Obama.

Perhaps you will mention the loss of landing rights in the former Soviet Union so we now face resupply problems in Afghanistan- you know the focus on terrorism according to the President.
