I’m Sorry, Who Are Republicans Blaming For Keeping This Circus Alive?

Filed in National by on March 4, 2009

I really would like to stop writing about this, (Okay, I’m lying!) but how can I when Rush won’t shut up!  Now he’s challenging President Obama to a debate!

But I have an idea. If these guys are so impressed with themselves, and if they are so sure of their correctness, why doesn’t President Obama come on my show? We will do a one-on-one debate of ideas and policies. Now, his people in this Politico story, it’s on the record. They’re claiming they wanted me all along. They wanted me to be the focus of attention. So let’s have the debate! I am offering President Obama to come on this program — without staffers, without a teleprompter, without note cards — to debate me on the issues. Let’s talk about free markets versus government control. Let’s talk about nationalizing health care and raising taxes on small business.

Let’s talk about the New Deal versus Reaganomics. Let’s talk about closing Guantanamo Bay, and let’s talk about sending $900 million to Hamas. Let’s talk about illegal immigration and the lawlessness on the borders. Let’s talk about massive deficits and the destroying of opportunities of future generations. Let’s talk about ACORN, community agitators, and the unions that represent the government employees which pour millions of dollars into your campaign, President Obama. Let’s talk about your elimination of school choice for minority students in the District of Columbia. Let’s talk about your efforts to further reduce domestic drilling and refining of oil. Let’s talk about your stock market. By the way, Mr. President, I want to help. Yesterday you said you looked at the stock market as no different than a tracking poll that goes up and down.

Oh yeah, Republicans have a big Rush problem.  As far as debunking Rush’s spin on the Politico story, Greg Sargent does it best.

BTW, did I mention how much I’m loving this?  Republicans have handed control of their party over to an egomaniac who doesn’t know how to share the spotlight.  Simply put, Rush doesn’t play well with others.  He needs a leash and a muzzle, but who in the Republican party would dare attempt such a feat?  Boehner?  Steele?  Cantor?  Well, maybe… if they stopped cowering.

And while liberals didn’t elevate Rush to his current role as leader of the Republican party, we are definately enjoying the show.

Will someone at this site please change his name to HUSH? Do I have to think of everything?

    P.S. No charge

I am mildly obsessed with the Limbaugh story. It’s nice to see the smackdown being done to the Republicans this time.

we have to be honest here. I think the white house would much rather fight Rush than Mitch the Turtle, or Jon Boner…
if they really wanted it to go away, Rham and Robert would just not talk about it, but thy are poking the bear.
that said, i think it is genius and i think it could kill the GOP forever. i hope he keeps talking (RUSH) he is driving Obama’s numbers up, and the Right Wing Supremacist party’s numbers down
Thank you Rush (i need a shower after saying that)

They are poking the bear — and reminding lots and lots of people why they really do not like the Gasbag. It reminds independents especially that they just don’t want that loud talking head crap right now.

I must admit that I have been listening to the Junkie lately and have come to a disturbing conclusion.
Rush has been using the terms Bend over and Grab your Ankles along with Butt Boy a lot lately. Which leaves me to believe that those stories of him going to the islands in his private jet in search of little boys may bear some fruit.

    Grrr….

Y’know, though, a debate between the Bloviated one and the Ego Whore (that would be Limbaugh v Olberman) would probably be a cool thing to happen. I’m really not that into a Rush v Obama debate anyway. Interview? Sure, that’s different. Debate? No. That’s not what I would want any President to be tied up in, a scheduled debate with anyone in the media.

  7. Shoe Throwing Instructor says:

Limbaugh is the ultimate elitist, debate him on things like health care or helping people with their mortgage payments would be great because Rush-bo is the ultimate let people fend for themselves, free market, Reagan worshiping despot. That nonsense doesn`t sell all that well in good times. In the current economic conditions he could well finish the republican party forever.

Oooh! Limbaugh vs Olberman? I’d pay to watch that.

We already have Bill Maher vs Ann Coulter coming up. Does anyone know if that debate will be shown on TV?

  9. Suzanne says:

I don’t think they will show it on TV — there are tickets on sale for it from what I remember reading online. Hopefully we’ll be able to see it after the event is over, if not live.
