Ho Hum, More Crazy Steele Talk

Filed in National by on March 16, 2009

Steele channels Beck in his latest wacky word play. (Emphasis mine)

“I love this battle because what I see right now is leading to the ultimate political Armageddon between conservatism and liberalism,” Steele declared at one point. “And the idea that free enterprise, free markets, free people are going to battle an oppressive, repressive, domineering government. I love that. That’s what we are lining up for you folks. So you better get ready, strap it on, because it’s coming. And you better pick your sides, you better choose now.”

Read the whole thing – you wouldn’t want to miss the Nixon comparison.  And for the word police out there, how’s this language grab ya?

i knew it i knew it. they want actual civil war.

  2. Unstable Isotope says:

He’s using the Glenn Beck language. I should go back and re-read Dave Neiwert’s eliminationism pieces. He talks about how the eliminationist rhetoric starts on the far right and works its way to the mainstream through rightwing news sources.

Steele also had some crazy talk about how global warming is actually global cooling. He’s such a treasure!

  7. anonone says:

    Front or back?

  8. Truth Teller says:

Is he talking about a adult toy a Strap On???????????

  9. a. price says:

I doubt Steele EVER knows what he is talking about

  10. pandora says:

Cool, David? Aren’t these your words on the Glenn Beck thread?

If he goes nutty and wants to rise up against America, I will join you in opposing him.

Now, I’m not saying it’s time to “rise up” but maybe you should be sitting up straighter. This sort of talk will find its intended audience. And yeah, you and I know this is Steele kissing Limbaugh’s butt, but the rhetoric is over the top.

  11. Von Cracker says:

The Wheels of Steele have seized-up.

Does he think that most in this country have forgotten how completely his party fucked-up? It would be if a major airline had 10 crashes in one week, do nothing about it, and then have the balls to say – “Hey, we’re the best. Come fly with us, morons!”

That reminds me – I can’t remember who said it, but I thought this was the best allegory when describing zombie GOP voters over last few elections….

It’s like being on a plane watching a flight attendant asking someone if they prefer the chicken or a heaping plate of shit. Upon reflection, the passenger asks, sincerely, “How’s the plate of shit prepared?”

  12. M. McKain says:

How can they talk about a repressive government given that their party platform calls for bigger government in our private lives? This is the party of Terri Schiavo, of warentless wiretaps, of limited reproductive rights, of telling adults what they can and cannot do in their own bedrooms….the list goes on. THAT is oppressive, repressive government, not a government that tries to give poorer people a fair shake at getting ahead by taxing the wealthy at a slightly higher rate.
