Now This is Cool

Delaware’s coolest political event of the year just got cooler.   Pam Tillis AND all proceeds this year go to the Delaware Food Bank.

    Wow… a liberal Democratic governor… at a country music bash… in Sussex County …

Wanna bet Maria whines that it’s not being held in Gumboro?

  2. jason330 says:

    Okay.

Maria is a great person (for a Republican) who I really like. She didn’t have her finest moment the other day, but when I think of the spaz attack I would have thrown if the shoe was on the other foot – I get it.

  3. Mrs XStryker says:

Well it’s a cool idea, but I’m hoping he does something with a cool indie band for New Castle County. Oh Jack, I’ll bet you could get OK Go on board for this. I could even make a few calls for you? Pretty Please?

  4. anon idiot says:

FYI, this has been a tradition for several years, organized by the Messrs. Marshall-Steele, I believe. (Did I get that right?) Ergo, it’s in Milton.

  5. Unstable Isotope says:

I’m not going to pay to see Pam Tillis. Can we get something different for NCCo?

  6. anon idiot says:

Yeah, I can see that. If it were in Sussex, you’d have made fun of Markell kowtowing to Atkins and his realms of bucktoothed hick hayseed supporters.

  7. anon idiot says:

    UI,

How about you pay to support the Food Bank? Yeah, because getting yourself entertained is what it’s all about. Good show.

  8. jason330 says:

AI is correct. There are all other political fundraisers and there is this one which (in terms of coolness) bestrides the landscape of political events like a colossus.

Keep your dumplings, keep your fire halls. Give me the summer bash.

  9. Unstable Isotope says:

I’ve given money to the Food Bank.

  10. Von Cracker says:

Big fan of Mel Tillis as Bradshaw’s sidekick in Cannonball Run….

  11. anon idiot says:

What I’ m saying is, look at this in terms of a Food Bank contribution, not a “pay-to-see-a-country-music-singer” event.

  12. anon idiot says:

Kudos to whomever designed that image, too. The photo, colors, field0, logos – all work well together, giving the vague impression of a hippie concert without scaring away conservative Dems.

  13. Von Cracker says:

wow, funny and clever….you’re a catch, AI!

  14. Mrs XStryker says:

Given money and volunteered, actually. Don’t sell yourself short, UI. X and I have volunteered, as well, AI. We would just like to see a more entertaining concert up in NCCo, which could then make more money for the Food Bank.

Jack, I’m serious. OK Go. I’ve got an in.

  15. anon idiot says:

Von Cracker – Please tell that to the patrons of the last club I did my stand-up at. I’m still eating the tomatoes and lettuce from that one.

Mrs X. – So please organize one! But don’t complain that an event organized by someone else wasn’t what you wanted. That comes across as very much Evansish.

Is OK Go the group that did the weird-ass video with the treadmills?

  16. Unstable Isotope says:

I hope there is a concert organized for NCCo, that would be pretty cool.

  17. flutecake says:

Nice design job, but I’ve already seen it. Last year’s bash in Milton for Markell was great, despite being the hottest frickin’ day of the summer!

    I’ll be there.

  18. Cor says:

Thanks for the kind words gang — the Bash is always a knock out fun event — and this, our 6th Year, will be benefiting Food Bank of Delaware! So make plans to stop by our yard, have some Dogfish Head, have some gourmet little goodies (yup, I’m cookin’ again), enjoy the music from Grand Ole Opry Member and Nashville Superstar and do some good for your fellow Delawareans. Tickets go on sale soon! (and thanks for the design compliments, I was going for a groovy fun summer feel — glad y’all like it!)
