    In another bit of Culture War Fail, the anti-gay group that hired actors to pretend they were scared of gay people sports another snicker-worthy event.

    This is for real. And I’ve been thinking about this for awhile now — I wonder if the very badly managed social scare cues that these guys have been tossing out is the true jumping of the shark for these folks.

    Jason, I think probably. The cover story of last week’s Newsweek was The Decline and Fall of Christian America. Here’s the article, if anyone’s interested. I definitely think that if Newsweek is noticing it, it is definitely past.

    Here’s something really controversial. There’s apparently a rape scene in the new Seth Rogen movie Observe & Report. It’s causing some strong reactions, like this one.

    My opinion: I think the filmmakers made a mistake by trying to have it both ways (both rape and not rape). I know I definitely won’t see the movie or any other with Seth Rogen. I thought Knocked Up sounded pretty anti-feminist, as well.

    UI, when Knocked Up was released, Katherine Heigle was killed in the media for saying the same thing.
    I’ve never quite gotten Rogen. The only reason I’ve watched any of his movies was because of his co-stars

    Oh Man. Thanks for that link UI. I have a feeling that we’ll be hearing a lot about that movie.

    I will not be seeing it however. I mean the pineapple express looks funny – but seeing this film after reading that review…I don’t think so.

    Yeah, just watched the R rated trailer. That is supposed to be a comedy? It looks horrid.

    The Republicans became the party of sexual obsession — gays, abstinence, sex scandals in the ranks, abortions, controling women’s sexuality, Christine’s virginity, the list goes on and on and has been discussed here in detail. Thing is, eventually everyone has to get out of the bedroom and go do something. When that happens the R’s are clueless, as we’ve seen for the past eight years.
