The shot that pans the room gives me the feeling that we could take these guys.

Just curious, did anyone start chanting, “Matlock! Matlock! Matlock!” ?

  2. I did the same thing. “Hey, I LOVE your sign, can I have a picture?” All the whilst snickering in my head.

I didn’t get the sign thing. I understood at Georgetown, where there was traffic… but if you were in a building, you were pretty much showing off to those who agree with you.

I forgot to mention this, but at Georgetown, they are in the process of installing new lightposts. The ground is torn up all around the perimeter. The two days of rain made it look almost Woodstock-esque. Muddy as heck. I would hate to have the landscaping contract for The Circle.

  3. Great event which was open to all. The Libertarian Party Chairman spoke and so did the GOP chair. Every political party was welcome.

The turnout was very good on a bad weather day and the event ran pretty smoothly. Speakers in the first group were varying in age and political registration.

Despite your pictures 90% of the signs and speech were about Taxes and Spending.

OMG!!! Tax money being spent. Did anyone have a heart attack!

I have seen widely varying estimates of total nationwide attendance. Anywhere from 50K to 250K. I guess I will have to take the middle number, around 125K as the estimate. That does not seem like a whole lot to me, especially considering the weeks of promotion on Faux News.

Rachael made a good point last night. Dick Armey lobbies for AIG and the banks who got the bailout money. He’s also one of the funders for this astroturf effort. These guys love playing both ends against the middle.
