Poll: Who will John Carney Defeat to become Delaware’s Next Congressman?

Filed in National by on April 16, 2009

Yesterday’s events have convinced me that perenial candidate Mike Protack will be gunning to take out Mike Castle in a primary.

Will he pull it off? Of course not. The only way Protack gets on a ballot is if Castle and everyone else quits.

Nevertheless – the question of who will face Carney in the fall is a far from settled question.

    Mike,

Does your new blog handle mean that you will turn down the IPOD nomination if it is offered?

Please recall that I advised you to turn that down, but did you listen to me?

    Nooooooo…..

BTW – only a 1/4th of the people who have voted so far think Castle is going to be running against Carney.

    Just sayin’

It will be Copeland. The best opportunity to pick up a seat is an open seat but I doubt the GOP will let it go unopposed. They’ll bring out their best candidate, which is Copeland.

Do you suppose that it’s because the poll is structured in such a way as to assume that the Democrat will win?

You might ask yourself a question: when was the last time Mike Castle lost an election?

Wrong. Copeland lost big running for Lt. Gov. He wants to be governor. If he runs for and loses another race, he will look like a perennial and losing candidate. The next office Copeland runs for will be one he can win fairly easily. Treasurer, for example.
