How about Don Viti — he doesn’t use that one any more!

  2. A name of the mysterious sleepwalker:
    el sonámbulo anónimo

    A name of mystery:
    El anónimo

A name of the mysterious know-it-all (who happens to be male):
    El hombre omnisciente del misterio
that will be a bit of a pain to put into the name box

    Dr Nick

Just spooky (if he’s looking at you):
    El vigilante

    Keeping it simple:
    El blogger

  3. Maybe we should think outside of the spanish-box:

    خواب گرد

    (hint: that is Farsi)

  4. anon

    La Garganta Profunda.

  5. Rsmitty,

Thanks for getting this blog on a terrorist watch list.

  6. I do what I can! You should see all the external hit attempts to my system in about the last 30 minutes!!!

Anyway, some Smitty snark for El Som:
    El liberal llameante

    RSmitty es hermoso

  7. Please keep in mind that, for ‘bulo to use it, ‘bulo has to like it. He sorta likes ‘Dr. Nick Riviera’, but he hasn’t seen the hands-down winner yet.

BTW, is Smitty trying to suggest that there is something Farsi-cal about the Beast Who Slumbers?

  8. Hmm…unfortunately, Dr Nick used to reside here…, but if it means cerveza libre para Smitty, then I am all for resurrecting Dr Nick for use by El Som.

Padre Somnambulo, or Padre for short.

  10. How about… God? If nothing else it should drive David Anderson crazy. 🙂

  11. Von Cracker

    El Flaco….

    …as “in the know”

  12. Von Cracker

    Vaguely know of it….

I see the second coming is doing the remake on AMC though….

  13. Unstable Isotope

    The One (Spanish: Uno)

    Playing on his nickname: Sleepy

    Macho Gracias

    The Rassler

“Dr. Nick Riviera” is not really shorter than El Somnambulo

Don’t change your name, I love it!

    Good point, UI.

El . . . you need to come up a max on the number of letters.

Then Jason can put it in a pie chart for you.

So was ‘bulo. The senoritas tell him that Patrick McGoohan was hot.

  16. anonone

    ‘Bulo,

Everybody else uses 1 name (except DV who usually uses just one name at a time). Some people even have the one name that they use borrowed by others.

You already use 3 names. Why do you need more? Are you just trying to keep up with DV?

  17. ¡Viva El Sonámbulo!

Here is his ultimate name, for it is 100% verdad:

El Sonámbulo Que Sabe y Habla y Escribe la Política Como Ningún Otro y Está más allá de Sus Años Ya Avanzados y Quiere Dar Smitty Que Liberta Cerveza

  18. Geezer

Rats. Your existing name(s) was my favorite in the entire Delasphere.

I like to address you as the Sleeper Who Walks in homage to that old comic strip the Phantom, who was also addressed as The Ghost Who Walks. FWIW, he’s considered the first character ever depicted wearing the skin-tight superhero costume that’s been standard issue ever since.

  19. I vote for any of the following:

    Juan Epstein
    Mr. Kotter
    Freddie “Boom Boom” Washington
    Salami
    The White Shadow
    Manix
    Oscar Madison
    Steve Austin
    B.A. Barachus (sp?)
    Lovie Howl
    Eunice “Lovey” Wentworth Howel
    James at 16
    Huggie Bear
    Sam Dabutcher
    Skanky Z
    Robert Hegyes
    Professor Harold Everett

  20. So, wait a minute. Do I surmise then that Geezer (#25) is wishing to see El Som in a skin-tight costume?

    Dude.

Speaking of costumes, though, what is the name of that character (the dude in the bumble bee costume) from Telemundo or Univision? This is the character mocked occasionally on the Simpsons. Maybe that can be your handle. You have to wear the bee costume while blogging, though.

  21. I like the adult playing the kid with the huge freckles.

I don’t know what they are saying, but I know that is it good comedy.

  22. The Sandman. (picturing the Neil Gaiman character, not the wrestler)
Del Santo. (like El Hijo del Santo, but repurposing “del” to mean Delaware).

  23. nemski

El Som, could you get a list pared down this list to five or so?

  24. Joanne Christian

You still going with the Spanish gig?

How about “El Diablo de Detalles”? That’s El DdD for short.

    No charge.
Let me know, if you prefer something more gringo instead. I aim to please.
