Conservatives Win!

It’s official.  Cheney kicks Colin Powell to the curb, while Steele exposes the truth about the base.

Cheney first:

Asked about recent verbal broadsides between Limbaugh and Powell, Cheney said: “If I had to choose in terms of being a Republican, I’d go with Rush Limbaugh. My take on it was Colin had already left the party. I didn’t know he was still a Republican.”

Now Steele:

“Remember, it was the base that rejected Mitt because of his switch on pro-life, from pro-choice to pro-life,” Steele told a caller. “It was the base that rejected Mitt because it had issues with Mormonism. It was the base that rejected Mitt because they thought he was back and forth and waffling on those very economic issues you’re talking about.”

Colin’s not a Republican, but Rush is?  The base rejected Mitt because they had issues with his Mormonism?

Of course the base had trouble with Romney’s religion.  The only way that guy has a shot in 2012 is if he converts.  The slight against Powell cuts deeper, and I’m not really sure what Cheney hoped to accomplish with such language.  Then again… does anyone understand what the conservatives are talking about these days?  Last I heard they were all atwitter about mustard.

  1. Stein says:

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was briefed on the use of “enhanced interrogation techniques” on terrorist suspect Abu Zubaydah in September 2002, according to a report prepared by the Director of National Intelligence’s office and obtained by ABC News. The report, submitted to the Senate Intelligence Committee and other Capitol Hill officials Wednesday, appears to contradict Pelosi’s statement last month that she was never told about the use of waterboarding or other special interrogation tactics.”

Cheney is an ass, who I knew to be the top of the slide downward when he was chosen in 2000. That was my warning signal. On OxyCotinBaugh, I consider him more and more an agent of hate…political hate, but hate, nonetheless. He has a level of intolerance that seems to smash the ceiling of what’s possible every day.

Oh, and to further illustrate how the GOP has totally lost any footing, you have comment #1 that has no rebuttal other than to bring up Nancy Pelosi, which had nothing to do with this post.

I was loving that bit of desperation.

    There is this also…

Love teh headline in your link, Jason:

    Conservatives may buck Crist

You only have to change one letter to get the real meaning.

  6. RSmitty says:

Yeah, just wait until they finally realized that Christ accepted sinners (not the sin) and they’ll start calling him a sandle-wearing, hippie-trogging, apologist liberal.

I was just on Rick Jensen’s show in support of more Dick Cheney & Rush Limbaugh representing Republicans.

Rick felt the GOP needs to be more conservative and I agreed with him 100%.

You gotta love it. Bush/Cheney and conservative talk radio killed the GOP. Even better, they’re still at it.
