Filed in National by on May 21, 2009

‘Bulo sincerely hopes you haven’t taken any psychedelics in the last couple of hours.

If you have, then you may want to step away from the screen for awhile as he unveils the most effective deterrent of ‘aberrant behavior’ since “Reefer Madness”:

The Beast Who Slumbers is told that  an ‘answer’ satirical commercial has already surfaced. But, how can satire improve on perfection?

  1. pandora says:

Even the kids in that ad aren’t diverse.

  2. One powerful ad, no wonder it makes you guys quake.

Pandora, they are a lot more diverse than NH.

  3. Dorian Gray says:

Dude, I am 5 beers and 1 joint deep… have pity.

That is totally disturbing, that is.

“..our kids will be taught a new way of thinking.” Yeah, I mean alchemy was a much stronger science.

  4. Dorian Gray says:

    Powerful ad… that’s awesome!!

I just the second realized David is a fucking idiot… that’s so cool…

  5. Oh noez, our kids will be taught to think! Won’t someone think of the children?

  6. Von Cracker says:

Emotion-baiting, nonsensical bullshit of an ad!

Yes David, powerful on a child’s mind. An adult’s? Not so much.

  7. Von Cracker says:

    Aaaannnddd…..Party On, DG!

    😀

  8. Dorian Gray says:

FYI – Just watched the vid again in the sober light of morning… still disturbing… and Anderson is still a fucking idiot. Although maybe he was kidding with that powerful bit. One never knows.

VC’s comment was aces… the clip is nonsense. So adults don’t do something because it confuses 9 years olds… is that the premise?

  9. Jason Z says:

Although I support the cause of the ad, it is absolutely against decency to exploit children in this way. They’ve sullied good points with cheap theatrics.

  10. MJ says:

Wow, David is no in the running for SOTW. Since the “gathering storm” ad didn’t work, let’s tort some kids in front of the camera to talk about something they really don’t understand. Because of course, if I could marry my partner, the world will come to an end!

So, is it OK for me to call David Anderson an ASSHOLE?

  11. nothing like using children as human shileds.

My guess is next they will show 8 year kids giving abortions.

  12. Who stands to lose children. You have no problem with children being taught this, why would you have a problem with anyone reminding people that it is about them.

Jason, I am surprised that you would say such a thing. What way were children used? Even a child can understand this, it takes years to teach them otherwise. Children are in political ads frequently. Every other time it is considered healthy. The PC crowd is not concerned about children discussing an issue. You should be concerned that they want to indoctrinate your children without your consent.

This ad is devastatingly effective because it reminds people what is at stake. Do you want your children growing up in a PC apostasy mandated by your government? What is more fundamental?

The Beast Who Slumbers found the ad devastatingly funny, not devastatingly effective. It reminds El Somnambulo of ‘Reefer Madness’, which people laugh at today b/c of the shameless, but hilarious, attempt to terrify people about pot.

So, what, exactly is at stake for children? Rampant pedophilia? The Catholic and Mormon churches, two of the most vocal opponents to same-sex marriage, seem to have a monopoly on that already. And there is no demonstrated causal link between homosexuality and pedophilia. Organized religion? Well, that’s another story:

    http://www.geocities.com/wsimister/ldscourt.htm

That the ‘sanctity’ of your marriage might be threatened? ‘Bulo only knows his own marriage, but the Senor y Senora laugh at that one.

So, tell us, O Great Fear-Mongerer, just what is at stake here?

  14. Jason Z says:

I said I agree with the message. I dread the fact that I probably won’t be able to afford private school for my children and I’ll have to deal with the PC indoctrination head on, with adults. Yes, I’m a super partisan, but I’m not gonna raise(or at least try not to) a little robot.

I never think it is appropriate to use children in campaigns. Heck, I’m disgused at half the things parents let their children do in movies and TV.

Politics sucks(can I use “politics” as singular?), it is about 89% negative and full of greys. I hope to raise my kids to believe in a positive world of black and white. Don’t jump on that either, I know the world isn’t that way, but a kid should be able to believe it is for 12-16 years.

  15. Dorian Gray says:

Ok Anderson, let me try to walk your through this. The use of kids plays into the misconception that homosexuality is unknown and bizarre. It’s neither. Kids don’t understand a great many adult issues. So you explain them. End of story. You really don’t understand why this is a false argument? Really? The fact that children don’t understand the way the world works isn’t an argument for anything, it’s just indicative of deparation.

  16. In my experience, kids get confused because adults confuse them. Kids are generally accepting of what’s going on around them.

  17. DG will said.

You should be concerned that they want to indoctrinate your children without your consent.

indoctrinate? funny. I’m surprised you didn’t use your other catch phrase word “abomination” while you were at it.

    You really are a loon.

  18. I hate to assume, but Does David have children?

  19. cassandra_m says:

This ad makes Delusional David scared because he understand that the younger ones are not taking up his bigotry in the same knee jerk fashion he has. It is also why these bigots are working so hard on this — their success window is incredibly small. Once younger voters get to be more of an influence over politics and policy, this issue is over. Because the kids don’t give a shit about this wingnut bigotry.

  20. The social conservatives are just mad because they think they’re the only ones that get to indoctrinate children.

  21. I just realized, these children are young enough that their parents probably don’t see the big deal about same sex marriage either.

  22. Comment 22
My children, You bet. Letting be exposed to other point of views is great, but letting the left tell them they are bigots for holding an opinion is something I will fight.

  23. anonone says:

In David’s world, children should learn that torturing by some people is OK but loving by some people is not.

  24. Dorian Gray says:

What if they hold a bigoted opinion? You are on the wrong side of history here. You’re the one who’s going to look like a knuckle dragging dipshit…

  25. In the modern social conservative world, Jesus was a DFH with his long hair, sandals and talk of loving your neighbor.

  26. Dorian Gray says:

The current “born-again” Pauline strain of Christianity is completely different from what Jesus taugh and James inherited anyway… but to know this you need to read and be smart enough to use evidence to embrace “a new way of thinking”.
