Happy Birthday Tetris!

Filed in International by on June 7, 2009

Yesterday, the game Tetris turned 25 years old.

I haven’t played Tetris in a long time. For a while I was addicted to Tetris. When I was a young grad student, we had a computer with Tetris on it in the shared grad student organic chemistry T.A. office. We all used to play it and were competing for high scores. At one point I started dreaming about Tetris and I had to quit cold turkey.

I never even saw the Tetris, let alone figure out how to shoot him, so I gave up the game.

  2. Tetris is the only game on my cell phone. I play it while the wife drags me through JC Penney’s, bumping into people and knocking over clothing racks.

had a version of Tetris on the frat house Apple II – it talked back to you – mostly when you screwed-up.

That and Risk were awesome study aids!
