A Gift at Drinking Liberally
Sometimes we have people that aren’t really liberal show up at Drinking Liberally. Tyler Nixon came out to the last one, and in the past we have had a few of the “cool” Republicans come out.
This evening, one of the cool Republicans, RSmitty came out to hang out with us. He gave me a gift that I have been wanting for a long time. It was a fully executed copy of a change of party registration form with Smitty’s name on it. The original is in the mail.
So Smitty has left the Republican party and become an independent. Who’s next? J.C.? Maria? Either way, I feel a small sense of victory on this otherwise sad day (wait for my Michael Jackson post).
I passed up that to lose in some stupid poker tournament?
OMG. I suck.

Congratulations RSmitty, I’m sure it was a tough decision. I’m guessing you’ll be dubbed I-Leans-R in the various voter databases ;o). Not a bad thing.

Maybe, this is more obvious or matching of sentiment than I had thought.
Rebecca – I leans R is what I have been, but not per registration. My attitude and approach has been there for years, but again, the paper ultimately belied my status.

Wait, Drinking Liberally was at DPT tonight and I missed it? Crap. I did say I’d strongly consider attendance if you had it in Newark, and I totally whiffed on it. My bad.
