The Leader of the DE GOP Is Not Pleased

Filed in Delaware by on June 27, 2009

An independent voter let us know that Mike Protack, the leader of the Delaware Republican Party, wrote the following:

In what has been the biggest aggregious offense since the passage of the Stimulus Bill of 2009, the U.S. House has passed the Cap-and Trade Bill.  The vote was largely on party lines resulting in 219 FOR and 212 AGAINST.  Eight Republicans voted YES.

Those who voted YES:

Michael Castle (R-DE)
Mary Bono Mack (R-CA)
KirkRead More
Lance
LiBiondo
McHugh
Reichert

A sad day for America.

I really like the Read More in the middle of the list . . . cut and paste maybe?

Meh, it looks like the post referred to might have been written by the Deputy Leader of the Delaware Republican Party.

  2. Well, I wonder how this will affect Castle’s possible run for Senate.

  3. As long as spelling isn’t a prerequisite, Protack would get at least 3.8% if he challenged Castle.

  4. callerRick says:

    Some more great news:

Foreigners now hold nearly 50 percent of the federal government’s publicly held debt. If foreign investors significantly reduce their purchase of future U.S. Treasury debt securities, without even dumping their current holdings, U.S. interest rates could soar and the dollar could collapse, analysts fear,

    Complete article:

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/jun/27/uss-debtor-status-worsens-dramatically/?feat=home_headlines

This is a disaster in the making; nations that are utterly dependent upon other nations for their economic solvency are doomed to financial turmoil if not collapse.

In January of ’08, I told anyone who would listen (on WGMD) to unload their equities…those who did avoided the 50% loss.

In mid-December of ’08, I told anyone who would listen (on WGMD) to buy Ford at just over $1.00 per share (it actually hit .96)….those who did made 5X in 2-weeks.

In March of ’09, I told anyone who would listen (on WGMD) to buy virtually anything, …..those who did have fared well in the last 3-months.

    Now, I am saying here, to anyone who wants to listen (and if you don’t, ask me if I care);

    1. Unload your 401k. Somehow, some way, the Socialist-Democrats will seize it….for your own good, of course. It will be converted into an IOU, like Social Security….to be dispersed as the government sees fit.

    2. Buy hard gold. It can be traded in lots of under $10k tax free.

    3. Buy rural land, with water. You needn’t live on it. $20k buys a lot in Wyo, ND, etc.

    4. Do nothing…….Go broke.

  5. callerRick says:

We’ll see who’s laughing in a few years, nemski. I’m old enough where it doesn’t matter so much to me; younger people need to do some serious thinking. If you think it’s ‘every man for himself’ now, wait a bit….you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

  6. cassandra_m says:

Well look who’s thinking he sky is falling.

  7. Mike did not write it, I did. And I stand by the post.

  8. callerRick says:

“Well look who’s thinking he sky is falling.

Fair enough….but, read the article; it may be.

  9. nemski says:

callerRick, I’m familiar with peeps like you. Back in ’99 they were stockpiling for fear of the chaos on Jan 1, 2000.

Keep on buying gold and land in Wyoming. My guess is you won’t have internet access soon, so . . . adios, muchacho.

  10. Art Downs says:

Quite a few more Democrats had the good sense to vote against the measure.

Of the dirty 2/3 of dozen, five failed to sign the brief that supported Mr Heller’s position in the first ‘clean’ Second Amendment case to be brought before the Supreme Court. These were the three RINOS from New Jersey, Kirk of Cook County, and our own Mike Castle.

Some pseudo-blue dogs such as Kratovil of Maryland revealed their true colors.

Castle may pay dearly for his folly and join Wayne the Worm Gilchrest in the ‘out crowd’.

  11. Art Downs says:

PS -What party position does Mike Protack hold?

  12. nemski says:

Art, Mike Protack is the leader of the Delaware Republican Party.

  13. X Stryker says:

    3. Buy rural land, with water. You needn’t live on it. $20k buys a lot in Wyo, ND, etc.

Rick may be crazy, but even he’s not crazy enough to buy coastal land when the ocean levels are rising.

  14. X Stryker says:

If Jason O. had cut and pasted from my post, instead of from some GOP moron, he might have spelled LoBiondo right and not left off Smith (NJ).

  15. I saw Smith on his post. It must have been your guy’s copy and paste of his post.

Art they are pulling your leg. Mr. Protack is chair of the communications something other committee.

  16. John says:

    aggregious?

    methinks that’s egregious.

  17. Art Downs says:

Has anyone seen Mike Protack participate in any campaign where he is not the candidate? Ever see him involved in any of the special elections?

So what makes him a leader?

His candidacies are a symptom of rot from the top so he does serve a valuable purpose.

  18. You folks will get the latest issue video today stay tuned.

The vote on Cap and Trade is a very bad vote which the Senate will correct.

Art, yes I have participated in many campaigns doing anything I was asked whether it is phone calls or door knocking. To name a few, Cathcart, Sorenson, Gilsdorf, Edmanson, Clatworthy, Smith, envelope stuffing at HQ etc .

    Thanks for the question.

    Mike Protack

  19. Geezer says:

Any chance that we can convince the Sky Is Falling Party faithful to build fallout shelters in their backyards, then convincing them to go in and lock the doors?

  20. Phil says:

Just wait until the commercial real estate market collapses this year. Just look at all of the vacant office buildings, and stores. Who is going to fill them? No one.

  21. cassandra m says:

CRE is collapsing now and has been since about the first of the year. No one is filling them because no one is going to buy stuff the way they did for awhile. Not that this has anything to do with cap and trade or the general criminal cluelessness of Mr. Shallow Bench and his lackey.

  22. The Cap and Trade is a bad bill.

    Listen and learn.

    Mike Protack

  23. jason330 says:

Protack’s post is the biggest aggregious offense to spelling since my last post.

What does this mean for Castle?

    Nothing. My prediction: Rocking chair.

  24. To answer Art’s question, I have seen Mike up and down the state making phone calls, handing out literature, going to fundraisers, and greeting at the polls for a lot of other candidates. Even after he was defeated for the governor’s race in the primary, he went to work for the party instead of taking a well deserved break.

More importantly, I have seen him at foreclosure summits, charitable events, and working to better life around this state. That is all in the last 8 months and yes over the years before that.

You can question the man’s strategy or timing, but I assure you that his heart has been in helping this community.

  25. Geezer says:

“You can question the man’s strategy or timing…”

I question both of those, along with his sanity. Why does he link to himself droning on about cap and trade? He has nothing original or interesting to say, just the usual boilerplate about it being a new tax (duh!) and how we can’t institute a new tax in a recession blah blah blah.

But it’s always fun to watch Mike Protack rebuild the house of the Delaware GOP straw by straw.
