Money Where Their Mouths Are

Filed in National by on June 29, 2009

A number of our conservative friends are upset at their standard bearer, Congressman Mike Castle. Not that this is news, since for years far right conservatives like Dana Pico and David Anderson have called Castle a RINO. With his vote for Cap-and-Trade, the conservative dogs are howling yet again.

Saturday, George Soros funded a BBQ at Donviti’s home, and we evil liberals gathered to plot the next round of tyranny against the oppressed conservative minority. And I wondered aloud whether Castle’s vote was a sign he was indeed running for the Senate, or instead was a sign that he just did not give a fuck anymore and was voting his conscience (hence a sign that he was retiring). Given that he already has primary opposition, and given that conservatives in the state already view him suspiciously, I would have thought Castle would have catered to this conservative base a little more.

Or maybe he just views Anderson, Pico et al as impotent. Maybe he thinks that the conservatives in this state can’t get their act together to oppose him. Sounds like Castle is challenging their manhood.

  1. El Somnambulo would like to thank George Soros for underwriting the soiree, and especially for providing such a highly skilled grill-master (that guy looked vaguely familiar…).

Special Soros shoutout for the ‘White Wheat Beer’, which could only have come from some socialist country of Soros’ acquaintance.

As to the Castle conversation, for some reason, ‘bulo’s memories of it have been erased by beer, wine, and high-cholesterol pork products…

Ouch – called out by Mike Castle. When your manhood is successfully challenged by Mike Castle you may as well go put on a dress.

  3. Those Soros-funded sausages were mighty tasty.

I think he’s calling out the base.

    Time for another tea party!

  4. Dana says:

Nothing I can do: I live in Pennsylvania. Art Downs, on the other hand, would probably work for any primary challenger Mr Castle drew.

  5. Dorian Gray says:

Damn, I missed the tyranical plotting. I was there for the binge drinking however.

  6. Delaware Dem says:

The plotting was in the secret garage behind the real garage.

  7. I knew there was a vast left wing conspiracy.

If Mr. Castle runs for Senate and forces a primary, I guess he will find out why he has such low approval ratings in the GOP.

  8. nemski says:

If Castle runs for Senate, he would beat anyone the radical right puts up against him. Yes, even Jesus.

  9. Art Downs says:

If Castle would find himself in a primary, he might pull a switch. It would be amusing to see the sort of welcome he would get from those who claimed that he was a conservative.

  10. anon says:

What keeps Castle in power is the democrats, and the Jewish vote, period.

  11. Art Downs says:

Democrats cannot vote in Republican primaries. so Castle would be gone if he got a challenge.

The few GOP types who think of him are his fellow elitists. There are not enough fat-cat aristocrats to save the day for him. He can run a slick campaign but there is not enough money in the State to make up for what he has done to offend what should have been his base.

We should all try to dump the careerists who know no trade save politics.

We need a return to citizen-legislators in both parties.
