One More Day Until Drinking Liberally

Filed in National by on July 29, 2009

It’s almost here!   And I’d love a big turn-out – or else LiberalGeek will never put me in charge again!

When:  Thursday, July 30th

Where: The Purple Parrot, 247 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach, DE.  We will meet on the patio, and I’ll bring a sign so we’re easy to find.

Time: 7:00 p.m.

And just for fun… Anybody who shows up with their birth certificate – or a photo copy, or a hastily forged version of a birth certificate – in a baggie gets entered into a drawing for a case of Twin Lakes Brewery beer!  The drawing will be held at the Twin Lakes event in August.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

I will be there with ‘date’. I figure we’ll know who you are if you bring Delaware’s hottest blogger; should be a large crowd of admirers surrounding same.

  2. pandora says:

    LOL! And lower your expectations!

  3. I still say you need to require birth certificates (for state-of-origin) and change the venue to the Jolly Trolly and bring coolers, lots of them.

  4. I hope someone takes pictures. Especially of the best “birth certificates.”

  5. Dave M. says:

Everyone there with a camera will be taking pictures of Delaware’s Hottest Blogger in order to shop the candid photos to the Paperazzi.

  6. MJ says:

There will be a special gift for the first 30 people.

  7. h. says:

Complimentary reach arounds for the guys?

  8. MJ says:

I guess some people can’t help themselves by being assholes (yes, you h.)

  9. pandora says:

Ignore h., MJ. Soooo not worth it.

I’ll call you later to coordinate.

  10. MJ says:

OK Pandora. I’ll be at the 14th RD picnic for Pete tonight, so you can get me on my cell.

  11. I might swing by after the debate in Georgetown if y’all will be still there after 9-10pmish.

  12. Dave M. says:

Brian, that’s an excellent strategy. I hear Delaware’s Hottest Blogger becomes morally uninhibited after a couple. Good timing.

  13. callerRick says:

Since I’ll be in Rehoboth anyway, I might drop by…I’m sure I’ll be as welcome as a toothache. Of course, being an ‘idiot,’ I’ll never find the place….hell, I probably can’t find Rehoboth Avenue.

Speaking of official papers…Christopher Walken has a Florida passport. About 2/3 of the way through the vid.

  15. Rehoboth Avenue is the main drag right down the middle of town, you can’t miss it.

  16. pandora says:

Of course you’d be welcome callerRick. Looking forward to meeting you.

  17. callerRick –
Go for it. I recommend anyone attend, so long as they are invited, which I believe all are. Hell, I can’t be so sure they’d turn away Protack, if he showed up.
note to self: do something to persuade Protack to go to one of those gatherings…heh-heh 😈
When I went, there was only a single-handful of people left, but it’s still good. Trust me, as the token Republican in attendance, they will likely ask you why-this, why-that, etc. In person is much different than here. Plus, while it’s nice to actually engage in discussion, some debate at that, too, it’s far cooler to get faces to go with the contributors/commenters. I think you will enjoy it.

    Oh, bring your birth certificate.

I would like to serve some constructive criticism tonight to the powers-that-be at DL. I realize re-doing the website is based on valid objectives to made it even better than it is (and may I say, with complete humility, that it is awesome now and always was), however, its like when they reorganize the aisles at the super-market. I’m sure there’s a legitimate reason, but then I have to learn all over again where everything is, and when you’re looking for creamed-pickled-pink Loatian peppercorns and have no idea what food ‘category’ they have been reassigned to, its quite time consuming.

  19. That and the site isn’t as friendly to my phone’s internet. I am only able to get the featured 5 posts. Thinking of going Blackberry anyway.

You’ve just damned yourself to hell, and yes, that is my Ombudsman side talking! 😛

Oh my, you sound like a conservative pol in Washington confronted with progressive change!

Someone check this man’s birth certificate!

  21. pandora says:

I have my birth certificate ready – plastic bag and all!

BTW, I also had my daughter make up a small delaware liberal sign, so it should be easy to find us.

    What town?

    🙂

  23. Rehoboth, Delaware

  24. Joanne Christian says:

What if I don’t have a birth certificate…but a grandmother who says she was there? Do I have to bring her?

  25. Yes, Joanne. Otherwise how will we know you’re telling the truth.
