I am convinced the Baucus bill is just something to get passed in the Senate (the 60 vote hurdle), and then in the Conference, the Public Option will be placed in, and then the bill will pass again in the House and through reconciliation in the Senate.

So, in other words, don’t worry about the Baucus bill.

  2. Right, DD, we just need to get a bill out of the committee. The important thing about the bill is the dollar figure. A lot of people were pleased with it, because they thought we’d have to lose a lot of subsidies for lower incomes. The $900 million is a number that can be worked with. The important part will be what bill comes up in the Senate (combination of HELP and SFC bill) and what comes out of conference.

    Well… then I’ll stop worrying! 😉

  4. If the Baucus bill becomes law it would actually be cheaper to pay your 3800 fine to get no health care, rather than pay up to 13% of your income to buy health care that doesn’t pay for anything.

isn’t somebody giving a speach tonight?

    I have an idea.

Why not use Hawaii as a test of Obamacare?
it’s an island so you eliminate the problem of people living in one state and working in another. It’s a blue state so they should be happy to cooperate with the president who claims to have been born there (kidding!). It gives the left a chance to test drive the “improvements” without wrecking the nation.

This announcement would make for a blockbuster speach tonight.

Please learn how to spell “speech.”
