Steve Newton Comes to the Aid of ACORN Delaware

Filed in Delaware by on September 21, 2009

Steve has a post up about a sting on the Delaware office of ACORN.  A blogger/reporter from Kansas called the Delaware office to get some assistance from  them to avoid foreclosure.  The polite person that answered the phone asked her to bring the following:

1. Current mortgage statement
2. 2008 Federal Tax Return
3. Sheriff’s Sale Date
4. Current W-2
5. If you are disabled they require the following documents:

a. Current VA Award Letter
b. Current SSI award Statement

Steve correctly points out that the documents are

Precisely what you would expect for somebody to make an initial determination of whether they could help you.

Finally, Steve admonishes Delaware bloggers (except Nancy Willing) for not discussing what ACORN actually does for Delawareans.  Point taken.
