Friday Afternoon Bacon Blogging — Bacon Tiara

Filed in National by on November 13, 2009

Many of us went to the Jefferson Jackson Dinner this week to see President Bill Clinton and to see what political rumors we could pick up — but we also went thinking that we’d have one of those rare chances to hang with RSmitty and Mrs. RSmitty. Why? Because we were really, really, really sure that Smitty would be sporting one of these:

A Bacon Tiara. Teh Awesome, yes? Who thinks this stuff up? Since the holidays are coming up perhaps some of you will want your own Bacon Tiaras, because all the world loves a Pork Princess. Instructions (including awesome safety directions) here. If you make one be sure to send us our pictures. And if you work fast, you can make one to wear to Rep. John Kowalko’s excellent fundraiser tonite.

Usually the post office ranks right above the DMV as the least exciting place on earth, but imagine the joy you could offer to your fellow frustrated shippers with the gift of bacon, no skillet or greasy fingers required. That’s right, bacon lovers, crankiness at the post office could be a thing of the past if everyone stocked up on bacon-flavored envelopes. J&D’s sells a pack of 25 for only $6.99 and also features a wide variety of other bacon-flavored goodies like Bacon Lip Balm and Bacon Popcorn. Hmm, now if only the DMV could create bacon-flavored driver licenses.
