Christie at UD Games.

Filed in National by on November 17, 2009

I have season tickets to Blue Hens Football games at the University of Delaware. So does the new Republican Governor-elect of the State of New Jersey, which perhaps explains the foul odor and ominous feeling of doom I encountered at the last game two weeks ago. I kid. Seriously, I have no problems with Governor Christie coming to UD games next year as an incumbent Republican Governor. There, he is just a fan of the same team I am a fan of.

I do have a little bit of a problem with this political consultant from Philadelphia that is, for some inexplicable reason, quoted in the News Journal story.

“Look, when you win, you can do anything you want,” [political consultant Larry] Ceisler said. “Christie comes off as an everyman, sort of like [Vice President] Joe Biden. The only thing to watch for is whether [Delaware Gov.] Jack Markell will give him a police escort from the New Jersey border so he gets to the games on time.”

Well, no, you can’t do ANYTHING you want. We have laws, even in New Jersey. And no, Governor Markell better not offer him a police escort. If Christie wants a police escort he can use his own state troopers and explain that cost to his constituents.

That said, see you at the games Governor.

who ate all the pies? said the stadium…

  2. John Manifold says:

Christie can use the state police helicopter, as did Sherm.

If he’s smart, he’ll ignore K.C.’s mercenaries and save his time to watch Elena.

Can Governor Christie take the USS New Jersey out for deep sea fishing?

  4. Delaware Dem says:

LOL. No, G Rex. He cannot do that. But if he wants to deep sea fishing, I encourage it. Indeed, I encourage him to go far far far out to sea.

    😉

I just learned something. “[political consultant Larry] Ceisler” is a moron.

I once lit dropped in the VIP tail-gate section at a UD game. WHOA! That was one ugly, mean spirited crowd. They didn’t want any Democrats in there, that’s for sure.

I don’t care if she is a girl – Rebecca has a pair of brass balls.

  8. Delaware Dem says:

What section, Rebecca? The one right in front of the stadium? If so, I have found it balanced between Democrats and Republicans, as that is where I tailgate. We had Governor Markell there at one of the last 2 games. Unfortunately, our parking space backs up to a Castle supporter who has Mike stop by often. And that is when I drink more beer.

  9. John Manifold says:

No one with a Blue Hen undergraduate degree has been elected Delaware governor since Cale Boggs.

More chief executives from Wesley and Goldey-Beacom.

Yup DelDem, right in front of the stadium and I don’t know where you were that day but I never came across you. Just lots of Republicans with some liquid courage in their tummies. It wasn’t a highlight of my career as a party operative. ;o)
