R. I. P. Teddy Pendergrass
The soul singer who first burst onto the scene with Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, and was one of the greatest stars ever to come out of the TSOP Sound of Gamble & Huff, has passed away at the age of 59.
Here’s an interview with Teddy talking about his accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down:

The only pop song to mention Nixon’s resignation.
I got me a paper
I sat down on my living room floor
Opened it up, opened it up
Guess what I saw?
I saw the President of the United States
The man said he was gonna give it up
He’s gonna resign y’all
But he still turned around, and let all us poor folks behind
They say they got another man to take his place
But I don’t think that he can satisfy the human race
Bad luck
