The Brutal Politics for House Progressives

If you read nothing else today, this article is the one you should settle in with. Ryan Grim and Arthur Delaney at the Huffington Post write one of the best articles I have seen in a long time surveying a political landscape -- but this time for House Progressives. Ranging from details on the financial extractions by the House Committees from Progressives, to the role they played in trying to keep the Public Option open to some of their own internal fractiousness, this article paints a pretty tough picture of the politics of being in the Progressive Caucus.

Rollins Mixes Business with Politics

So new GOP Congressional candidate Michele Rollins sent out an e-mail to her list (below) with a phone number to her campaign. But when you call that number, you get the answering machine machine message for "Rollins Jamaica." You see, Michele Rollins is chairman of Rollins Jamaica, a 7,000-acre complex of luxury hotels, residences and golf courses near Montego Bay, Jamaica. This is in addition to her serving on the board of directors of Wilmington Trust Company, which of course allowed her to take outrageous bonuses at the tax payer's expense.
