New Blog In Town

Filed in Delaware by on April 21, 2010

RSmitty, Dave Burris and Michael Stafford have teamed up and launched Delaware Tomorrowa new perspective on policy and politics.

Hmmm… the rebirth of moderate Republicans… or the last hurrah?  We shall see.

(Psst… notice how I gave you top billing, Smitty.)

    …and I’d like to announce that I am going on a blogging-leave. 😆

    Thank you!

I think Dave and Mike will be fine with me in top-billing. That allows me to block them from the cross-hairs.

Mike Castle teaches us we need to be careful about awarding moderate status. The test of moderation will come at endorsement time. The economy was wrecked by extremist Republicans who were elected with the support of moderate Republicans.

But the desire to disconnect from teabaggers is a good beginning. Time will tell if it is moderation, or tactical retreat. Getting ahead of the wave of Republican collapse is a good idea.

On a national level, Republicans all vote together on policy so calling yourself a moderate doesn’t mean much. When you’re a Jet you’re a Jet all the way. That may be changing though; looks like Congressional Repubs can’t hold together forever.

  3. Perhaps Smitty can join the Charlie Crist party.

More utter ridiculousness from a party that has no moderates. From Richard Nixon on, they have been a disaster for our country and the world every time they came into power. No exception. Their current leadership is made up of crooks like Gingrich, no-nothings like Palin, corporate whores like McConnell and Bohner, whack-jobs like Bachman, con-men like Paul Ryan, and liars like Mcinsane

There is nothing in that party that is defensible by any thinking American. Nothing.

I was just over there. Nice site, RSmitty, et al. And for anyone wondering, no, “Reasonable Republican” is not an oxymoron. It just seems that way sometimes.

    How doe RSmitea sound?

  7. RSmitty says:

Hi Steaksauce! Been a while. 😉 I’ve missed those terms of endearments of yours.

FTR, although P put me in top-billing, the ‘good job’ credit goes primarily to DB. He did the setup and got us together.

Oh, A1, I prefer coffee, not TEA.

RSmiteaaaaaa is back!!!! Looks like we have our work cut out for us again! 🙂

  9. Delaware Patriot says:

You mean Curly, Larry and Moe? Absolutely no one in the Republican Party regards any of these guys with any sense of respect.

The only thing moderate is their IQ.These guys attempt to pass themselves off as deep thinkers when they are in deep do do.

Most Delaware Republicans would rather read IRS info than anything they have to say.

Aw, hi, Mike. Missed you, too. You realize your friend still respects me, and I even respect him. Do we agree on stuff, nah, not always, but funny thing, that is. You don’t have to agree on everything or even anything to respect each other. At least I know he’s honest when talking to me.
