She Plays Softball…You Know What I Mean ;-)

Cable news talking heads discuss Elena Kagan’s and sexual orientation, based on a picture of her playing softball. Yeah, I don’t get it either.

Obviously, real women aren’t good at sports. This is probably the only conservative test of womanhood I’ve ever passed.

    She has a good track record and served this nation well as Solicitor General…

    Everyone who uses a photo taken in 1993 to distract the argument away from how good of a justice she will be, is doing their nation a great disservice..

    She is qualified to be a good justice.

    If you are hoping that during the hearings for her nomination, some Republican stands up and questions her sexual orientation, I think you will be out of luck.

    So, playing softball can be used in this wink-wink, nudge-nudge context, but walking around in waders with fishing nets and killing and skinning large animals makes you a “regular gal”?
