Monday’s Asshats of the Day

Filed in National by on August 16, 2010

It was a gorgeous weekend down here in LSD.  Too many tourons, but hey, they help our local small businesses.  If they could only just leave their money and not drive on the roads, it would be perfect.  Now on to more serious matters.

Today’s award is a bipartisan award and it was too easy.  Newt Gingrich and Harry Reid.  Yeah, a notorious adulterer and the current Senate majority leader both decided to open their yaps about the “Ground Zero Mosque.”

Here’s a link from the Washington Post which shows exactly where the cultural center is going to be – www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/graphic/2010/08/16/GR2010081603346.html.

So, first up, we have Newt, calling the planners behind the cultural center “radical Islamists” and comparing them to Nazis.  Of course he did this on FAUX News.  Maybe Glen Urquhart wrote his talking points for him.

Then Harry Reid decided to swallow his balls and had his spokesman issue the following statement:  “The First Amendment protects freedom of religion.  Senator Reid respects that, but thinks that the mosque should be built someplace else.”

He added: “If the Republicans are being sincere, they would help us pass this long overdue bill to help the first responders whose health and livelihoods have been devastated because of their bravery on 9/11, rather than continuing to block this much-needed legislation.”

So, obviously Reid, who has totally taken control of the race in Nevada and has painted his opponent as Nevada’s version of Christine O’Donnell (without the money problems) decided he need to run to the right on something.  And then he ties the cultural center in with a first responders bill?  I call FAIL!

Newt just needs to go away.  Seriously, his time and come and gone, and he should go chase another man’s wife, which he’s pretty good at.  And Senator Reid, when you find your balls again, hold on to them.  Being a eunuch disqualifies you from continuing as the majority leader.

I always thought we were at war with Al-Qeada and the Talliban, not Islam.

Harry Reid USED to have balls – sorry Sarah “cojones” but I think they done shriveled up = Cold water maybe??

and soon real soon – the roads will be ours …..again…

    and the meters free

Newt – small lizard like animal…..hmmmm maybe his mom n dad knewo what was gonna happen

  2. The former Burlington Coat Factory is now “sacred ground.” I think this is a ridiculous non-troversy. Now I’m reading that Republicans are gleeful and are going to use this “issue” in November. It’s a stupid idea, not just because it’s a stupid nontroversy but because it distracts from the issue of jobs & the economy. Does the GOP seriously think voters really, really care about a mosque in NYC when they don’t have jobs?

  3. So how come the thumbnail Gods haven’t made an “asshat” thumbnail for you yet?

Gotta love those LSD pig roasts too!!!

what a way to embrace something negative and make it fun and positive

    class act there!!

I just couldn’t find pig’s wings on the menu – altho they were on the boxers… LOL!!

The building in Oklahoma City was blown up by a Christian extremist, yet we allow a church to memorialize the event by building a statue of Jesus in the blast zone.

  8. This is hilarious. Rumproast takes a stroll around the hallowed ground near Ground Zero. Warning – there’s an NSFW picture in here.

  9. a. price says:

that is Newt’s biggest problem. If a multi ethnic community center goes up, it might improve the neighborhood and put pressure to get rid of the porn shop.

  10. MJ says:

    Tundra Torquemadam – love it!!!!!

The Rumproast tour is priceless. And I was hoping to do something similar next week when I need to be in that neighborhood. Although the Dakota Roadhouse is the dive-y bar I thought was next to the Burlington Coathouse, so I was wrong about that. What is also needed are pictures of all of the Halal food trucks within a few steps of Ground Zero….

I’m a little concerned about a mosque requiring Imams being in NYC where there are a lot of small children who could be molested.

Wait a minute. That’s my religion who molests.

    Nevermind.

  13. Geezer says:

Are the Google streetview photos of the area already out of date? Streetview is a wonderful way to tour Wasilla, by the way.

  14. Any Hasidics in the area? It would be like the sharks and the jets.
Gee, Officer Krupke, I want a mosque in America, building a mosque in America. Plenty of church in America, no room for more mosques in America.

  15. Miscreant says:

    “That’s my religion who molests.”

Every religion has those who molest, as perversion has no boundaries. However, there’s only a few religions that condone it. If you’ve ever studied the customs of Islam and some of its denominations, or read the Qur’an, you probably wouldn’t be making such idiotic statements.

  16. @ Miscreant “making such idiotic statements”
and this dialog is about who/where? We’re speaking about my America, bubba. The mormons are raping children and the vatican’s prayer boys are raping children. Post a link to an islamic pedophile or even boy love at the synagogue in this country, then we’ve got a base.

  17. Miscreant says:

    – One of Mohammad’s 11 wives was Aisha, she was 6 when she ‘married’ him, and 9 when the marriage was consummated.

Otherwise, do your own research, dimwit. If you had before you posted the first time, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

“We’re speaking about my America, bubba…”

Apparently, I don’t live in your America.

  18. MJ says:

Here’s a story about abuse in the Orthodox community in NYC – http://nymag.com/news/features/17010/index1.html. Also, a rabbi I knew when I was a teenager is now doing time for molesting the young girls in his charge.

  19. tell ya what mis, your link is aout Afghans, what part of ‘merika don’t you understand? Now you got MJ in wit’ ya.
“Bacha bazi is illegal in Afghanistan, but the practice is still thriving.” So glad you survived it, mizz.
Wow, you got a Google hit,MJ! Now that’s detective work. And the court’s proceedings are? The allegations are substantiated by whom?
“wide spread in the orthodox community”. Yeah. That nails it down. Keep ’em coming boys.

  20. And no, little miss, you don’t want to live in my America. Fox doesn’t call us Union Thugs because we vote democrat. I act on my beliefs, exactly counter to my d-bag opposition. Stay comfy in your leather chair while I get the work done for you, weenis.

  21. MJ says:

Actually, CR, I subscribe to NY Magazine (have for over 30 years) and this story and it’s follow-up floored me, especially since I grew up in the Orthodox community. Did you even bother reading the article (I know, no pictures or connect the dots and it was longer than 1 paragraph – probably too much for you)?

BTW, why are you being such an asshole? And stay on topic for a change. If you’d like, send in a tip and maybe one of the editors will do a post on pedophila by religious leaders.
