This Guy Really, Really, Really Wants To Be Treasurer

Filed in National by on September 9, 2010

You know… two years ago this behavior would have seem odd (and shocking) to me.  Now it’s what I’m coming to expect from the GOP.  Oh no!  I’m becoming desensitized to crazy!

Wonder if he won?

I love the implicit ode to Matt Foley.

Is his housing plan – “Live in a van. Down. By. The. River?”

Thought the Einstein quote was going to be – “Shut. Your. Yapper.”

  2. I think I love this guy. I mean, how can you resist a guy who has that much passion for the job?

  3. jason330 says:

According to Hufpo, “While Davison did not get the nomination (North Canton Finance Director Alex Zumbar did), he certainly made a lasting impression.”

That is probably good news because someone this passionate will certainly run for something else sooner rather than later.

  4. pandora says:

I watched this video with my jaw dropping. That’s a whole new crazy.

  5. Phil says:

Is he gonna cry? Sounds like its gonna be “niagara falls little frankie” at any time.

Favorite line: :::scary face::: “I have been a Republican in times good, and I HAVE BEEN A REPUBLICAN IN TIMES BAD!!!!!!!!!!!11111”

  6. mediawatch says:

When I saw the headline, I thought you were writing about Bonini.

  7. Brian Shields says:

If I were running against him, I would play this speech in my ads against him.

  8. Dr Crazy says:

If he really has a master’s in public administration, then he’d probably be a fine treasurer for a Tennessee county, once he calms down a bit.

  9. a. price says:

he really drives home the point that the right has created an air of “it is better to be a good conservative than a good american” i.e liberals are gay terrorists.

  10. Joe Cass says:

Sorry about jumping your post, Pandora. TYT did a piece on him and I knew it was just right for DL. I’ll start using the tip link.

  11. Auntie Dem says:

I’m exhausted. And very grateful I don’t live in Stark County.

  12. Iowa Democrat says:

I actually felt sorry for the guy. I’m not sure if his GOP credentials were being questioned, or he was questioning the other guy’s credentials. I’m also not sure why a committee was deciding the GOP nominee. If it was because the primary winner dropped out, that’s fine, but otherwise I don’t care for party activist picking the party’s nominee.

    Iowa Dem,

Sorry for him? The guy obviously has zero social skills. Maybe he’s off his meds, I don’t know. But you don’t just get up and start SCREAMING at people. There were other little things – the way his eyes looked, the way he kept pacing and then halting and dashing back to his notes – that would have made me frankly terrified to be in the same room with him.

With so little control over his emotions, he has no business being in politics. I imagine he’s going to get voted off the town council or whatever he’s on next time around. Too much of an embarassment.

  14. Phil says:

zero socials skills? That guy has a masters degree in communications, and a bachelor’s in sociology. He is a people person.

Kinda reminds me of the guy from office space, “I have people skills! I deal with the customers so the engineers don’t have to!”
