“Republican Cannibalism”

Filed in Delaware by on November 3, 2010

So much for personal responsibility.  Honestly, is anything ever her fault – even partly her part?  The video below is an embarrassment.

Here’s the truth:  The Tea Party gave the senate to the Dems.  Not that they’d ever admit it.  In fact, after blaming everyone else they’ll start crying that they need to be more conservative.  Also, I expect to hear the term “Republican Cannibalism” a lot.

My prediction:  Even though her canidacy decimated Republicans up and down the ticket she’s not going anywhere.   I think we’re stuck with her.

Fake report? I’m fairly certain the FEC isn’t going to fake their review.

  2. RSmitty says:

I am reposting my comment from her annotated speech thread, because it works nicely here:

So, this is what I heard from this speech (from the annotated speech thread):

    Blame, blame, blame.
I got 40%, my best ever in a general!
    Blame, blame, blame.
We still won! How? Because I told Chris Coons how to do his job! I WIN!
    Blame, blame, blame.
We may have lost the numbers, but they heard my voice (like a cackling jackel), so I WIN!
    Blame, blame, blame.
I know that we technically lost, but we didn’t really lose. The DE-GOP lost this. Ginger Gibson lost this. Dan Gaffney lost this. Yet, I WIN!
    Blame, blame, blame.
I had no support from Delaware at all, but I still WIN!
    Blame, blame, blame.
See you on FOX, SUCKERS! I WIN!

  3. V says:

totally off-topic, but what’s with the Palin bump-it?

  4. AQC says:

The thing with total morons is they are too moronic to realize they are morons!

  5. Jason330 says:

Wow. If the camera had only tilted down they would have seen a pile of Republican femur bones at OFonnells feet.

  6. anon says:

Is she kidding? Nobody could have helped her sell that s**t sandwich she was selling.

  7. Delaware Dem says:

Jason, I just literally laughed out loud in my office at that comment. Everyone is looking at me.

  8. Another Mike says:

Maybe the GOP never got behind her message because no one was really sure what the message was. Her campaign was awful. Did anyone ever hear anything but platitudes and insults and lies come out of her mouth? Rove and Cornyn might be a lot of things, but stupid is not one of them. Even the half governor stayed away.

I hope she runs against Carper in 2012, because she’ll get her ass kicked again. As long as she’s slithering around the political bushes, the GOP in Delaware is going to suffer.

  9. underdog says:

Now that the election is over look for the Atty. General’s office to begin a crimminal investigation into her campaign financial juggling act.

  10. JustMe says:

All her other statements aside, it is undeniable that the GOP did not back her in any meaningful way. Whether she won or lost because of that is an entirely different conversation.

  11. a.price says:

“Maybe the GOP never got behind her message because no one was really sure what the message was”

that didnt really stop them with other candidates.

  12. Joanne Christian says:

Sorry–the days of fall in line, not fall in love are over. I may not be asking for love, but I sure as heck am not settling for dislike…distrust, dishonesty, dismissed, disrespectful, and of course disillusioned. Wrong is wrong–whether in the “family” or not. Wiggle room is one thing–rogue is another. My sentiment sits, and yes Chris Coons you are taking all of us Delawareans to DC–thankfully.

  13. Dr. Crazy says:

“it is undeniable that the GOP did not back her in any meaningful way.”

Is that a surprise? After the viciousness with which she went after Mike Castle?

Look, Mike Castle is a highly respected and accomplished Delawarean, with a lifetime of distinguished service to the state. Absolutely, one can conduct a primary campaign on the issues, but teabaggers don’t understand that when they demonize the opposition to that extent, they are not going to get some great “unity” push after the primary is over.

It’s very basic politics. After you win a primary, you are going to need the votes of the people who just voted for your opponent. Markell is governor today because he and Carney had a civilized primary contest after which Democratic voters could unite around the winner.

But when you have something as vicious as say, the primary between Carter and Kennedy in 1980, that primary candidate leaves the stage and takes the voters with him or her.

The fact that Castle would have won is not a function of whether the GOP establishment in Delaware supported him. People were going to vote for Mike Castle because he personally has an enormous well of goodwill built up from the fact that, even if he disagreed with an opposing view, he did not have a habit of making enemies out of friends with whom he disagreed.

  14. pandora says:

Why would the GOP back a candidate that delighted in telling everyone that she destroyed the GOP. She also loved. loved, loved running as the anti-GOP candidate.

  15. Polemical says:

I cannot believe that, after a seminal election like last night, why on God’s Green Earth would the mainstream media (CNN, FOX and others) allow Christine O’Donnell any air time!

Voters elected the very 1st Latina Governor in US history in New Mexico, Obama’s ‘old’ Senatorial seat was lost. Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida and even Blue Michigan lost big. YET, COD gets air time to bitch, whine and blame anyone and everyone. I don’t condone the foul language used in earlier DL posts regarding COD’s loss – it’s beyond unprofessional; however, COD is the single most worst idiot wannabe Washingtonian power broker that I’ve ever seen.

What will she jump to now: The 2010 presidential GOP nomination!? Lord help us!

  16. Hahaha. I hope she runs for president, Polemical. The base loves her, judging by the embrace of Limbaugh, Malkin, Levin and Hannity. She says the right soundbites and is vague about anything else.

Excuse me – “unprofessional?” When one of us gets paid you can complain. Until then, we’ll type curse words if we want.

  17. Aoine says:

UI – you are my hero!!

  18. Aoine says:

Polemical must have missed my missive in Spanish – talk about Spanish swearing

and its so pretty to listen to as well……….

  19. Boxwood says:

Speaking of cannibals, it has been reported that the Palins were sitting in the owners skybox at Giants Stadium Sunday about the same time O’Donnell was having her tea-party in Wilmington.

    Let’em eat cake!
