Arizona Takes The Lead In The Dumbest State Contest

Filed in National by on November 16, 2010

Arizona for the gold.

In an era saturated with absurd moments of anti-Muslim fear-mongering, mosques have become a touchstone for Islamophobia. Even unbuilt mosques have set off a wave of anti-Muslim sentiment in Tennessee, Texas, California, and most notably, New York. Not to be outdone, the people of Pheonix, AZ were quick to call foul over the appearance of a dome-like structure along an interstate. But in the clamor over the impending Muslim takeover, these Arizonans missed one small detail — the building is not a Mosque, it’s a church:

The fact that this sign needed to be hung says a lot… about stupidity.   We have become a nation where domes and flag pins carry more weight than facts.

So you are saying you are ok with being able to rape and beat your wife?

  2. Delaware Dem says:

Yeah, I enjoy sarcasm as much as the next guy, but even this Donviti answer goes over my head.

  3. donviti says:

That’s the response I have heard from people that are in favor of the Sharia Law ban in Ok. when they argue that the ban is legal.

    Sorry for the confusion….

  4. Dr Crazy says:

    Donviti

Try asking your friends if they believe the Constitution protects the right of contract, and whether people have the right to enforce them.

    Then ask them this:

If a Jewish restaurant contracts with a supplier of Kosher meat, and refuses a shipment of meat, saying the meat is not Kosher, then if the supplier sues the restaurant, what is the court going to have to decide?

Criminal cases are decided under the statutory criminal code of Oklahoma.

But contracts can include all sorts of terms, including arbitration agreements to have some religious body decide them. Think – employment agreements for religious organizations.

But, at the end of the day, why does Oklahoma hate The Ten Commandments?

Another thing you might tell your friend is this one:

Sharia bans murder. So if murder is against Sharia law, is it now legal in Oklahoma?

    I blame poor civics understanding.

  5. RSmitty says:

    Dr Crazy –

You realize those other questions would require situational thought and most people up in arms over trying to rush to ban Sharia Law in the USA really don’t have tremendous situational/critical thought capability to begin with.

Most simply put: Sharia Law would fail in the face of the Constitution, period.

For anyone to argue that this town or that town has adopted or enforced Sharia Law not only gets spooked by shadows, but has no real grasp of the Constitution.

Now, what spooks me is I still understand Donviti before others get him to explain what he means.

What makes Arizona the dumbest state is

1.continually electing the corrupt and sadistic Sheriff Joe

    2. electing Jan Brewer

3.Electing Nazi and White Supremist lover Sen. Pearce

and …last but NOT least – euthanizing a hero dog that saved the lives of 50 soldiers in Afghanistan

    way to go Arizona!!

    Dear DrCrazy,

Sadly, I’m with Smitty on that one.

    Kind Regards,

    Arizona Chooses Death
So the wingnuts put into practice that which they falsely claim HCR does.

  9. Von Cracker says:

What Arizona & Oklahoma are doing now is a bastardized, newer version of class warfare first introduced by the treasonist, racist Confederate South.

It ain’t about race and religion, well to the elites that is; it’s about fooling the ignorant white masses into voting against their own economic and (funny enough) social self-interests. Latinos and non-evangelicals are the new Black.

Keep the poor whites afraid and the “plantation owners” will reap the political benefits. It’s sad to see that it is working so well.

I actually love that a church has their usually opaque motto on the building.

“If you think different you are wrong”
