O’Donnell Won “America’s Next Wealthy Wingnut” (Which is What She Was Running for all Along)

Filed in National by on December 12, 2010

It is a rare and welcomed treat to read a NJ political piece that is not weighed down by the false “balance” of claiming that “Democrats do it too.”

Christine O’Donnell finally has a job. Calling it “Christine PAC” for now, the former low-budget religious activist has banked enough leftover cash from her record $7.3 million campaign to finance her national ambitions as boss of her own political action committee, if she chooses.

Even after furious campaign spending through the election, the three-time failure as a Republican Senate candidate already has cut last-minute, five-figure payouts to her sister and other campaign staffers, many after the election.

O’Donnell, who lost by a nearly 17 percent margin to Democrat Chris Coons on Nov. 2, was nearly debt-free and had $924,745.43 remaining when post-election financial reporting deadlines rolled around late last month.

That’s a dose of fresh air right there. Not only that, the NJ goes on to document how O’Donnell openly duped her wingnut zombie brigade:

“What’s surprising is that they didn’t spend it all. More often, when a candidate is behind, they spend money like crazy,” Steger said. “That tells us that they didn’t know what they’re doing, or they anticipated the defeat and sought to not fully invest in the race. Either way, one is calculated, and one is an error.”

What a bunch of saps and suckers they have on the Republican side. It truly is an asset for them that they can just rip off donors like that.

    She didn’t spend it all.

Aren’t her acolytes telling people that the party wouldn’t support her and that he was *advised* to hold on to a cool $1M for legal fees? So they are still trying to dupe the suckers and saps, apparently. She kept the money to pay herself and her friends — not for any legal fees. Which is a point that should be made repeatedly — since she’ll be going back to the well for more money probably using her pending legal issues as the reason.

You almost have to feel bad for people who though she was a serious candidate who was running for the right reasons. Almost. I mean, how many of these donors/marks spent their social security checks on O’Donnell?

The real question is, if/when she runs again, will these same supporters subscribe to the “fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me” philosophy?

Oh wait. Most of her donations came from out of state. Nevermind. They get what they deserve.

Guess what? I still owe $479,000 from my 2008 Pres campaign. Am I a low life also?

Yes, Mrs. Clinton, you ARE a lowlife. You’re also abrasive and divisive and I’d never vote for you. That said, you’d probably make a better President than our current Commander In Chief.
