  1. I am utterly fascinated by the Chris Christie story. He left the day of the storm so he can’t claim ignorance. He didn’t bother to even put out public statements during the storm and after he came back he blamed his wife. Just so amazingly tone-deaf. I’m fascinated because this is all self-inflicted on Christie’s part. Another thing that got me was how he criticized mayors for not doing their job. At least they were there, as were all those public employees he likes to bitch about.

    The PCCC has a fun webpage called Where’s Chris Christie?. And I noticed the very rich irony of a GOP governor asking for Federal FEMA help to offset the costs of snow removal — a thing that the GOP was dead set against last year. Snow removal is often a harsh reminder that people really do want their government services and a reminder that it is dead stupid to pretend that those services don’t come at a price.
