Save the Working Class Rally

Filed in Delaware by on March 14, 2011

This event happens TOMORROW

When: Tuesday, March 15, 2011
Time: 5:30 – 7:30 PM
Where: The Circle in Georgetown, DE

Link to the Facebook event. (You have to login to see it, I think.)

From my invitation (not sure if I can post the whole thing):

The rally is being held to support the working class in Delaware, the blue collar people who build the cars, repair the homes and who plow our roads.

These people were not the cause of any of our current economic problems. This rally is intended to remind people of this. If you go, bring “Spirit, Signs, Friends & Co-Workers, a Flashlight”.

And take pictures to share with us here.

  1. Jim Westhoff says:

They even asked me to be the kick-off speaker. Consequently, I didn’t sleep last night, thinking of what I might say. I have it narrowed down to correcting the lies about public employees, describing what America would look like without a middle class, or just tell funny stories about my two kids.

  2. Auntie Dem says:

Go Jim! You’ll knock it out of the Circle.

  3. Miscreant says:

Contrary to the noble ‘blue collar’ spin, from what I gather from the Facebook page, it would appear the emphasis is is bolstering the image, or selling unions as the backbone of the middle class… in Sussex County?

    Good luck, Jim.

  4. Joanne Cabry says:

Jim did a great job. Any time you need someone to rouse the crowd, call on Jim.

It was great event that made a big difference. Ann Nolan and Joanne Cabry deserve the thanks for bringing that issue to the people.

My friend videotaped the speeches. I hope to share with you all the video in a day or two.
